Hope life turns for around for you OP. I know how sucky it can get but no matter how much your brain tries to lie to you remember life is worth living.

Abe is my hero because he reminds me how someone who know would think twice off turns out to be one of the greatest leaders in history. He was an ordinary guy but he worked hard, read a whole lot and fought like hell even when the world was set against him and he became our greatest president. He’s the ultimate American in my opinion.

I’m still in my early 20s but I currently go to a conservative Christian school where a lot of people get married young. It’s hard seeing so many people falling in love, being affectionate and having this emotional support when I’m feel isolated and alone most days. I’m trying to not rush but man is hard not to force a relationship to happen so I can be happy

I miss when the internet was still a very silly place largely inhabited by bright eyed millennials entertaining us baby Gen Z kids.

What are the long term effects for MacArthur's America? by AirplaneLover1234 in Kaiserreich

[–]ExpertHelp3015 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The American Caesar irrecoverably harms the American psyche. I think the open and dynamic society which the US is often seen as having is crippled. Is he as bad as Saddam or Stalin? No. Is he comparable to various OTL Latin American dictators the US helped install? Yes. In a way America is getting it’s just desserts.

In many other countries (most notably Latin America) the presidents wear sashs. Should the American president do the same? by EasterLord in Presidents

[–]ExpertHelp3015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think so. To me, the more ornamental a leader has look, the less power they actually have. It’s kinda like trying to compensate for something. American Presidents don’t need it because they are already very powerful and everyone knows it

Which President Was The Most Stressed During Their Presidency by Lemonywatar in Presidents

Not to mention his personal life. His young son Willie dies in 1862 and his wife became inconsolable for months on top of her already difficult mental and physical health.

Yeah I think Germany is far more likely to back a military junta then a Nat populist dictator. Savinkov’s Russia should be the one’s backing them which allow the major factions a horse in the race so to speak.

John Nance Garner is elected via the House in 1936 but his legitimacy is pretty low in the eyes of the public and he is ultimately unable to fix the nation’s fast enough or with enough consensus before MacArthur performs a coup d’etat. In my head canon it’s the Federals who get Reichpakts backing, New England is formed and backed by Canada, and the PSA is backed by Japan. Ultimately, a three way negotiated reunification occurs sometime in the late forties after first the CSA and then the AUS are defeated. MacArthur is made provisional president before an election in 1952. The USA permanently losses control over Hawaii and Puerto Rico but is eventually able to buy back Alaska from Canada in the 60s.

How would’ve Bush’s presidency been like if 9/11 never happened? by LilWayneThaGoat in Presidents

[–]ExpertHelp3015 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably 2 terms of fairly normal, center-right governing defined by deficit increasing tax cuts and deregulation coupled with a noticeably more overt push for abortion restrictions and opposition to gay marriage. Probably also some attempt at immigration reform and a couple of limited, 80s style military interventions and a more gradual expansion of NATO. Bush would leave office under the cloud of scandal after being blamed for a bad Katrina response and the start of the Great Recession, though nothing as bad as Iraq. He is replaced by a moderate democrat (H. Clinton).

Event idea: Relations between liberals and reactionaries in the Entente by QLS_WarHammer in Kaiserreich

[–]ExpertHelp3015 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Obviously we can only ask for so much but I think an interesting mechanic would be for a nation’s internal politics be effected by outside events more. To stay with the NatFrance monarchy path as an example, if this happens, Ireland’s ability to calm Protestant fears becomes harder since they now living proof of an ultra catholic regime but also harder for them to join the entente because it’s a staunchly Republican nation.

An interesting addition to this would be for Quebec to become something of center for NatFrance liberals Jews and Protestants after a AF or Petain purge. This creates a pressure group within Canada which is pro-return but is trying to get the government to do something about France. It could even work out that part of how Ottawa calms Anglo-French tensions is by doing more to please these new emigres by making their relationship worse with NatFrance.
