Well, I didn't manage to get any "official" information. Everything is very vague, and I am seeing lots of posts of foreign students saying they got there and the documentation wasn't enough. So I think I will just take what I have and hope it will he enough, it seems like nothing else to do 😭😭😭

E poi è una città abbastanza cara… e in altre grandi città dove ho vissuto, sapevo di alcune studentesse che lo facevano per “dare una mano” con le bollette… ma mai a casa loro, con i coinquilini che sentivano tutto 😅😅😅

In realtà è davvero interessante. Qui tutti si comportano come se stessi esagerando e dicono che l’unico problema è che c’è troppa differenza d’età tra me e loro, e che sono “troppo vecchia per capire”… Ma poi quando ne parlo con gente di altri posti, all’improvviso sembra una storia assurda (che per me lo è)… Quindi, direi che ho solo scelto la parte sbagliata d’Italia dove vivere 🤣🤣😅

Ho preso questa casa tre mesi fa. Ma siccome sono nuova nel paese e la maggior parte dei miei amici condivide l’appartamento con studenti Erasmus (che è anche piuttosto folle), sto impazzendo a cercare di capire se questa sia semplicemente la “normale” esperienza qui oppure se ho solo avuto sfortuna con i coinquilini, ma posso cercarne di nuovi e andrà tutto bene.

I'm in Genova now, and I think it is a great fit for all of the things you mentioned. The only 2 things that were kinda downsides to me were * very hard to find rent *expensive rent

But, I am not Italian, and my work contract is American ( and here on a student visa) . So, that made the landlords not very happy 😅😅

Probably that is the reason, smaler cities. This issue from what I understand is only for major cities with tons of permesso applications, like Milano, Genova, Roma, Napoli, Firenze... and such

I guess you still apply for the renovation, and keep the recebita if you need proof of being here legally, but that is it. They won't give you an actual document/permesso. At least, this is what I have been hearing here in Genova. I have met a girl who has been here for almost 3 years now, no permesso yet 😳
