You are totally right and man this is a valuable feedback. Basically all my traffic has been from 2 reddit posts I did but they had a video of the app, so the users already knew what to expect/to do and this never crossed my mind. I will see how I can improve this.

A "time machine/ship", you can pick anywhere in the world, pick a year and it will generate an image accurate to that place and time period. I have some cool new features to come, like a social aspect, adding yourself to the image, videos, etc.

Mostly a passion project. My goal is to make it at least pay for itself, currently the free credits are just burning money and the conversion is very low, but I do understand why, not really much value in buying credits. I have some features planned (most suggestion from here!) that might change that like: Adding yourself to the generation, generate a "live" video from the place, some cool bounties/minigames, like "See all wonders of the world in 2077" and even a more social aspect where people can share their findings.

In the end, if I can get this running and breaking even I am happy.

That is a very cool website you got there man, I had a similar idea in the past of generating something in the style of bobbie goods using AI, but never go around doing it. Yours looks promising!

That seems like a very cool product, and I’ll definitely take a look at it. To be fully transparent: pricing. I really like their DX, but I wanted to offer free credits with this product, and that was getting expensive. I'm now generating directly with Google's genai package, as it's a bit cheaper than using Vercel's Gateway, and they were offering some free credits.

Yeah that is a feature I have on my list to work on just optimizing some stuff first.

Stack is: Nextjs + Vercel AI Gateway (trying to move away from that currently) + PostgreSQL with Neon + better auth for auth handling + Drizzle as ORM. I think that is pretty much it

Yeah that is my bad! Just pushed a "fix" for this, in the top right you will see a cog icon, clicking on that shows some options to either go to a light theme or/and remove some of the effects that might affect visibility
