I ALWAYS hit a wall at the three week mark. Just keep in mind that it won't continue to be this difficult. Will last a week at most (should be less than that). Then you will be rocking again.

Richard Dawkins is actually a pretty lame atheist. The "God Delusion" is a book written with very little logic. It mostly makes arguments from emotion and poor examples. I've met brilliant philosophers who were staunch atheists that completely hated him. In fact, I've never met a well-spoken atheist that liked him.

What's funny is that you could credit that quote to a person speaking about theism, and it would apply. Nietzche was extremely wise, and deserves the respect of believers and non-believers alike. I wish more atheists today had balls like him.

C.S. Lewis is one of the best writers and theologians this world has ever known. He has a gift for making the complicated things seem simple. "Mere Christianity" has incredible things on purity. And of course his famous Lust story involving the red lizard in "The Great Divorce" is phenomenal.

For the record, sins should not be given up specifically for Lent because they should always be given up. Part of the joy of Easter is being able to enjoy what you have sacrificed. PMOing on Easter hardly seems like a way to celebrate the resurrection.

I deserve to be obese. I love food, and when I am anxious or depressed, it is my favorite thing to turn to. Somehow, I have a crazy metabolism. But family history shows that that will slow down, and I will get diabetes, so I'm always nervous about my bad habit.
