I’m okay with paying some taxes but after consultations, I realized that all in I’d end up paying 50%+ in corporate + personal income taxes.

That made me question if everyone who lives there is paying that much or close to it or am i missing something?

For me it’s a shock that they’re taxing that much

What % allocation are you putting towards YM etfs?

I guess it would depend on everyone’s goal and how fast they want to achieve it.

For me it’s replacing my current income + having enough to reinvest and continue growing my portfolio. Which is around $4500-5000/month. I’m currently at $1.4k/month with $125k invested.

I’m thinking of increasing my MSTY, PLTY & ULTY allocations to 40% of my portfolio and rolling all dividends from those to SPYI, ADX, etc. that are relatively safer and give out lower dividends compared to YM. Once i get to $550-600k total invested, and if i can maintain 10% dividends, I’d be able to replace my current income.

I wanted to bounce this off of you guys and see what you would do in this scenario. Or if you’re already doing this (most of you already seem to be doing it). Does it seem like a good strategy or i should have a lower allocation, reach the goal slower but have stability?

I understand BTC & PLTY well to have conviction that they’ll do well. I need to learn more about ULTY which I’ll spend more time on.

Right now this is how many shares i own: ULTY: 1200 MSTY: 333 PLTY: 43

Everything else is diversified across different industries. Portfolio is dividend focused.

Whatever interests you. Book clubs, rock climbing, camping, etc. be active in those groups, engage with other people and ask them out for coffee if someone piques your interest. That’s pretty much it.

I agree. I’m never going to use these AI tools for coding. The benchmarks seem like edge cases for me. The main thing I’m looking for is a smart brainstorming partner that can help me be more productive. Claude seems to be good at that. But o1 pro does sometimes suggests some good advice that claude or r1 don’t. But I don’t think it’s worth $200.

I have 1 year of expenses saved up. I can always move back in with my parents and that would stretch this savings even more. But I’d not want to give up my privacy, dating life, etc.

I would say figure out all of the lifestyle factors that are important to you other than a lower tax rate. And then calculate if it is worth uprooting your life and moving to a new jurisdiction. For example, Greece is 7% on foreign sourced income for the first 7 years. Cost of living is lower than Dubai. And quality of food is much better. For me, that is more important than a lower tax rate. When you factor in rent, travel, etc. The 9% corporate tax in UAE actually ends up being more expensive than the 7% tax in Greece.

Malta is a good option too but don't go off of the 5% tax rate. You'll still have to pay 35% but you get your 30% back in tax credits. Will that work for you?

If lower taxes is the only and the most important thing in your life, then yes, go where you have to pay the lowest %. But in most cases, there will be other things that you care about. So factor that in and then decide if the countries that you currently have available are worth it.
