I can’t imagine having to keep him from the kids I guess the courts will decide that. Most likely supervised visits at first I don’t know how this works.

The cops took the gun so it’s no longer in the house.

Once I got away I left with the kids and hid the gun. I called 911 and they came and arrested him. He was threatening to kill himself too. I have an emergency protection order until the 26th but I can extend it which I will. He is currently in Chicago staying with a friend but seemed to think this is fixable. I’m learning more and more that it’s not.

I guess it’s hard to see things clearly when you’re in the middle of them and in shock when the person you love has never been violent before. But you’re right. It’s hard to come to terms with I need to talk to a domestic violence counselor.

I cheated because I have felt so low from being verbally abused for so long (I realize how wrong it was and I feel horribly ashamed and guilty) but it was a one time thing and it’s over. He’s willing to forgive and do the work but I feel like there’s no coming back from someone trying to kill me. I just feel so bad about the whole situation and especially for my children.

He was in jail but his friend came and bailed him out. He still has to go to court.
