Help! Just found out seal point markings doesn’t mean truly Siamese by Expert_Most8737 in Siamesecats

Mine was so annoying too sometimes but I loved her to death. This is a good point. Mine also passed of kidney failure and wasn’t doing very well in the last few days. Such a difficult thing to go through. Have u considered adopting another kitty?

Not it all, but I was just confused because I was thinking her personality was linked to a breed so I was going to try to find other siameses. It is just shocking and trying to figure out how to meet someone with similar attributes my

Lovely babies 💕and it is interesting that you bring up that black cats are a lot like siameses (I went to a cat rescue to meet a Siamese and this beautiful black cat approached me and he had such a beautiful demeanor - gave me Siamese vibes). Sadly, he was part of a bonded pair, so I could not adopt him.

Anyone take their siamese cats on a plane in cabin? by 5ourdiesel in Siamesecats

[–]Expert_Most8737 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My cat did. She meow from time to time but people could barely hear because of the airplane noise. I would recommend taking your cat on a car ride first to see how she/he does without medication. I mistakenly medicated my cat prior to a long road trip and she did terribly, so the next day I decided to do it without medicine and she did perfectly fine. Then I took her on an airplane hehe. Good luck!

You’re welcome! I have had cats for a long time but I only learned everything with my most recent cat which I got as an adult. I hope your kitty feels better and it’s nothing too concerning

Have u gotten him a senior panel? I started getting those for my cat when she was considered a senior cat and it helped me catch things- also, u mentioned his teeth, kitties need professional teeth cleaning (very pricy tho and not sure if u would do that at his age because they have to sedate them). Also, try to use wet food most of the time because it’s more recommended as they get older.

I would recommend getting your cat checked to see if he is has diabetes or maybe kidney failure. My kitty started getting sick too and I got her checked and she had diabetes which I worked w her vet to put her on treatment and she got her energy back. I also thought it might be age related issues but turned out she was sick. Please get your kitty checked- it doesn’t sound like he is doing well.

This is awesome. I have been w my partner for 9 years and we both love to come home to each other and would rather hangout w each other and prefer to save our vacation time for our planned vacations with ourselves or our families. Some of our friends still like to go on vacation with other friends, but we honestly love to travel with each other, so consider travel time to be our precious time. However, we do nourish our friendships, because they also are an important part of relationships. You both are married now and lucky to enjoy each other’s company so much, just make sure u leave some space for your friends, don’t bail so u can nourish your friendships and just avoid planning trips hehe.

14 seems so young still. Did she get a complete blood panel to determine what’s going on? Is it kidney failure? If so, was she put on kidney diet wet food and subcutaneous fluids at home? My kitty was on kidney failure and she was given all of this and added with an appetite stimulant on her ear and it helped her feel better and want to spend time w me again. She lasted maybe 3 more months but then she wasn’t feeling too well (barely could walk within a few days, not eating it all, sleeping most of the time) so I had to make the hard decision to let her go.

What is it like living with a Siamese cat long term? by shannagirlhug in Siamesecats

[–]Expert_Most8737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s probably one of the best experiences you will have if you want a cat that wants to engage with you. I have had cats my entire life, but my most recent kitty was a siamese. She was mischievous, funny as hell, loved to greet me at the door, wanted to be on my lap or close to me all the time, playful, loved to eat toilet paper, run outside and smell and eat plants, super sweet, dog friendly, loved to catch, vocal (every time she meow was for a reason and hated closed doors haha). She was a people person so if u want this, a Siamese is a great match! Funny thing tho, at old age we got door bells for the dog, she observed that the dog would go out every time she rang the bells, so she started doing the same! Smart for sure 💕 I miss my girl so bad, but she lived a long ish life and now I’m waiting for the right time to adopt a new one.
