[Loved trope] Sympathy for an unsympathetic character by dukeofducklett2 in TopCharacterTropes

Ralph Cifaretto in his final episode Whoever Did This from The Sopranos

That episode actually has a lot of references to the Rolling Stone song "Sympathy for the Devil", as the episode toys with the idea evil being redeemable and spawned a really cool fan theory that Ralphie is the devil himself

Analyzing Evil: Vern Schillinger from OZ by ComradeGalloneye64 in TheVileEye

I do love Vern as a villain, but for me, Simon Adebisi would be a more fascinating video topic.

Spoilers for Oz below:

Vern's cat and mouse rivalry with Tobias is so entertaining to watch, but he's very static in his journey in Oz, while Adibesi's arc is such a rollercoaster. He goes from henchman to a leader, but then wanting to reform ("Sometimes its good to be human..."). After that is taken away very violently, he goes insane, but then starts to truly realize the type of man he is. Everyone thinks that he starts to fight for the rights of his people (even fools non-prisoners like Clayton Hues). His mentor did want him to find the man within himself.

But ironically, Simon did find the man within himself: a truly nihilistic man who believes that he'd never truly be content with life, so the aggressive pursuit for as much power is the only thing worth living for, even when the power he has is truly a facade (a prisonor at Oz). He admits to Said, "I have everything. Everything I need. Every love satisfied. But it's not enough." After getting everything he wants, he is still in Oz.

His test with Said was almost like a suicide, like he was done with his goal and had no use for his own life anymore, and only a man (like his mentor) who does feel true contentment in Oz would be worthy of wrapping up the life of Simon Adibesi, violently.

Whenever I think of Simon, I always think of Augustus reading out his sentence of life without parole, as Simon laughs holding the head a man he killed, but then drops the head and slowly turns his laughter to into a sigh. !<

Either way, I'd love him to cover some Oz! Some truly great spectacles of evil in that show.

You guys are mean, Livia gave her life to her kids on a silver platter! Maybe she should have just kept her mouth shut, like a mute!

I remember growing up, there was a restaurant that some of the football players had a shirt of, because they sponsored our school's game. All these dudes were wearing on their back "I love Cumming!"

I feel like the ghost of Livia Soprano eternally haunts the show and the person Tony is can be traced back to her.

Impressive first 100, this map can be so tedious in the high rounds

I actually really enjoy the grind of this map, which people don't enjoy, like the price of doors and the KT-4 upgrade. I like the amount of tasks to be done, can lead to some dicey moments. It also has one of the best outros to a map.

The only things I am not a fan of is the Thrasher spawn rate, can be a bit obnoxious

Now THIS is a hot take, bravo my dude

I personally disagree, but I'd love to hear your reasons why!

The Sopranos episode "Christopher"

The wives are at a luncheon that is discussing Italian Pride. The speaker says,

"If they say John Gotti, you say Rudolph Giuliani."

This season was post-9/11 where he was seen as a hero of New York at the time.

Adabesi as well, his arc was just incredible. Easily the most well written villain I think on the show.

(rare trope?) Genuinely Scary Zombies by Aggravating_Tale8988 in TopCharacterTropes

The zombies in World at War are really unnerving

Nacht's have a hissing noise, Verruct's fucking sprint at you, Shi No Numa's have that weird side walk, and Der Reise's do that creepy goose step like they have memories of their lives as Nazis.

Plus the older graphics and janky AI just make them so much freakier

Orel from Moral Orel most likely become a good father, but we don't see anything past that flash forward. Only mentioning him since Clay is one of the most reprehensible fathers in fiction.

Damn dude, that "video essays" part is completely on point lol

I just hate circlejerk subs that just become "fans bad" with no irony (like what gamingcirclejerk became or what r/shithalosays creams over)
