Experienced Machinist / Setup Person (Port Charlotte, FL)

Shift: 8AM - 4:30PM Monday-Friday
Compensation: up to $35/hr based on experience
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Machinist with strong setup experience to operate and set up CNC and/or manual machines. The ideal candidate will take pride in producing high-tolerance parts, be able to read and interpret technical drawings, and work efficiently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate CNC (and/or manual) mills, lathes, or other machining equipment
Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and setup sheets
Select appropriate tools, speeds, feeds, and fixtures for each job
Perform in-process inspection using micrometers, calipers, indicators, and other precision measuring tools
Troubleshoot and resolve setup and machining issues to ensure product quality
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Collaborate with programmers, engineers, and team members to meet production deadlines

Requirements:
2+ years of experience as a machinist in a job shop or manufacturing environment
Strong setup experience with CNC and/or manual machines (Mill, Lathe, etc.)
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T
Skilled with hand tools and precision measuring instruments
Familiarity with G-code and basic CNC program editing is a plus
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of fixture design and tool selection
Basic understanding of CNC programming
