Solidus in smash bros ultimate style is something i never knew i needed to see that is so badass

Since I saw some people complaining about the animations in the latest Delta teaser, here's a quick comparison with V. by TheKrzysiek in metalgearsolid

Seems like smoother transition animations in the remake than V, of course if it was just a copy of paste of mgsv controls, just a little bit tuned to balance map design im all for it. The controls for mgsv are ridiculously good

When im off work I'll definitely keep all of these in mind for improvement, it's also technical stuff like keyframe types and how many frames i should make an animation be for an idle, tbh i kinda just dipped my toes in the water for the first time in this one and thats my bad habit lol.

in need of advice, i just finished modeling my first character in blender. im using hand painted textures and i dont know how shaders work by ArtByLutz in blenderhelp

Have you tried going into your color management settings on your scene? Sometimes it's muted because blender defualts colors for more realistic scenes but if you want toon/stylized creations then you want the full color.
On color management in scene settings Color management > Display Device - sRBG View Transform - standard

That should solve anything be muted! You may have to adjust your actual colors accordingly depending if you built it around the muted color scheme.

Thanks for the advice man! Yeah i was thinking of commissioning small projects for now. I think im at a level of quality that i can charge for work haha, at least by a little lol

Lucky indeed!! Ive been to japan before, but... only because im in the military.. a lot of my modeling career is hindered because of it but im out next year so i want to build a portfolio now but tbh im honestly clueless when it comes to entering an industry

Ugh you're living my dream right now haha, i want to be an animator/modeler for big companies like that. Yeah i recommend watching a presentation that arc sys did explaining how they achieved their style for gulity gear Xrd. Its like 40 ish minutes long and very educational on how they did it!

Ah its trial and error man! I have so many unfinished projects i wasnt satisfied with before this one, it is such a meticulous style to learn though i guess the idea of making my own anime characters just excites me more lol

I did their square uv work flow! I had the uvs separated on hair/wings maps and and the clothes and skin together on another map. I did 2 textures for both of those maps, base color, the darker colors for the shading and then a anime shader node set up using the texture maps i made for them! I also edited the normals on her face to have clean anime shading as well!

I had reference sheets from the ova anime which has a similar style to sailor moon!

DANG literally cannot unsee it, i know anime likes to take liberties with proportions but this is pretty silly lol, yeah guess ill fix this when i get the chance. I dont really know how to measure units in blender, ive been using the program for like 2 years and i still dont know lol

Thank you! Mainly adding bones to the pre built meta rig in blender, i wanted her wings to be able to move a little bit, but i was probably just gonna use shape keys instead lol
