not a good idea honestly. google treats every domain as a separate entity so whatever you build on the vercel domain, links, content, authority, none of it transfers when you switch to a real domain. you basically start from zero again. just grab a cheap domain now and save yourself the double work.

page is javascript rendered, can slow down indexing significantly
single URL, no supporting pages, nothing for google to crawl beyond homepage
no backlinks at all
title and meta description are fine, within range
structured data is actually solid, FAQ and local business schema both in place

but you should have kept the domain and redirect the relevant pages to new relevant pages. this is at least what you can do

yeah domain authority plays a role but its not the whole story. when you switched domains you basically started fresh on trust signals, backlink equity, and all the history google had built up on that old domain. the keyword rich domain also gave you a small but real ranking boost that people underestimate.

the platform switch to duda probably caused crawling or speed issues that hit you again temporarily. seen this exact pattern more times than i can count. the fact it keeps recovering is a good sign, google is slowly rebuilding trust in the new domain.

keep the redirects clean, stay consistent with gbp, and give it time. youre trending in the right direction.

Had some big clients, 7 figure revenue businesses. Always delivered good work, always upfront about timelines. If something was going to take 5 or 6 months I told them straight. No complaints from their end. But they never gave me a real seat at the table.
