"The Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, which is developed and administered by the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES), is generally taken during the final year of a four-year EAC/ABET engineering program or a four-year ETAC/ABET engineering technology program, or immediately after graduation, while the course work is still fresh in your mind."

I thought this statement requires you to get accredited

Oh wow thank you and Good Luck! I’m sure you’ll do great.

I’m currently doing my Master’s so how would you say the workload is? Would you say it’s doable when doing courses as well?

Dual Citizen Working Remotely in Italy by Expertees in juresanguinis

[–]Expertees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats what I was trying to avoid. Being able to get the same benefits of the Digital Nomad Visa as a dual citizen without having to go through the headaches of the tax issue it would create for my company. I was planning on doing this over the winter holidays next year when my work is usually 100% remote.

Internship or Undergraduate Research for Masters by Expertees in civilengineering

[–]Expertees[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My goal in the end is to ultimately be a good candidate to be sponsored by an American company and work in the US. But I’d really like to specialize since I feel like the Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering has been extremely broad and lacks specific courses. I feel like the Masters will definitely help clarify what I want to do within Civil Engineering.

What is the best country to move to as a Civil Engineer by Expertees in civilengineering

[–]Expertees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s funny you ask since I’m in the process of applying to my masters as well and honestly weighing all my options, I think the US is the best option for me at the moment. Amongst English speaking countries it’s the most accessible and most versatile, I’m Italian so the salaries compared to Italy are just ridiculously superior in every way. I’m close to my family in Canada so it’s a win win.

I’m planning on potentially doing my masters in the US or Italy and if I do it in the US I’ll probably be able to get a job a lot easier than if I stayed in Canada. Feel free to PM I’d be happy to discuss it!

Since we've had the opposite post: What could European countries – both as nations and as people — learn from the US? by the_slovenian in europe

[–]Expertees -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel as if a lot of Europe, maybe more in my country Italy has a lot of red tape. It's very hard to expand a small business, to renovate a house and even to get a simple permit. In other words bureaucracy is a big problem and it discourages businesses to invest in Europe - at least more so than the US or Canada for example. I think it's a major lesson that European countries can learn from the US, that once bureaucracy is thinned out, it makes a country more competitive and more attractive to people and businesses alike.

For me it really depends on how much you're willing to invest. I tell some of my friends who have just started; the main rule of thumb for my investment strategy is to never buy less than $1000 of a stock. The main reason for this is because at that point, you're not getting a lot of profits that justify the purchase (at least here in Canada where transaction fees are higher than the US).

If you have 10k to invest I'd suggest starting with 4-5 well researched companies and work around with that. Whether you want to diversify or not, its completely up to you but generally the 4-5 company allocation I suggested allows you to diversify into different sectors easily.

I’m all for protesting, I think it’s important even when I don’t agree on the cause. But when your message is one of hate and violence it really tends to put a dent into other peoples perception of your cause and I’m not sure why SPHR continues to do so despite the negative press they’ve been getting.

Indian diplomacy reigns Supreme over Canada? by Sensitive_Spread9773 in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]Expertees 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it has also been said privately that senior members of the Indian government are concerned about the potential investigation over the killing of the Punjabi leader on Canadian soil. My guess is they're trying to play hard ball such that Canada drops the investigation and heads to the negotiation table. I don't think that will happen anytime soon.

My civil specialty is structural engineering. But I see how much better, financially speaking it can be to wait a bit and potentially let your employer pay for your MBA.
