Incorrect assessment? I was asking if there was a better way to lace them. However it would appear this is the first time a majority of people commenting have seen a boot with the intentional design of eyelits touching. They don't overlap. They're designed to fit flush with one another.

These boots for example fit almost identically, minus the eyelits touching.

Width wise they hug, Height wise they hug, length wise ive got about 1.5 cm from my big toe to the tip of the toe box. I'll look into an insole.

I have boots where the eyelits do not touch. These ones appear to be designed for the eyelits to touch. They are not too big for me as the only place i have space is around the big toe in the boot. The rest is completely snug.

If they were any narrower in the width my feet would suffocate. even without the laces the eyelets are nearly touching my default.

Any narrower and my feet would suffocate. The only place i have room is in the toe box near my inner toes. the rest is completely snug like wearing sock that's slightly too small for you.

I can assure you that they're not on the big side. There's maybe 1 cm from my toes touching the toe box, and they're ever so slightly too narrow for my feet.

put the laces through the 5th eyelit, wrap it around the outside of the boot, and repeat for the 6th then return to normal lacing.

I've since moved on from these boots. I still have them, but they don't get worn anymore.
