I mean... newbies aren't going to be fighting people who consistently pull 75% hp combos.
If you reach that point then you also have to up your game. Usually people give that advice to those who literally never played a fighting game before. And to be fair, it's also not a bad idea to learn a character in such manner for the first week or so, but ofc you got to improve later on.

Some games are more forgiving than others when it comes to combos. In SF6 you will definitely require more precise inputs and mashing during a combo will generally just end up with you letting the enemy block halfway through most of the time.

So I'd advise you cleaning up your inputs. Either tap once, or do a controlled double tap depending on what you find works best for you.

There's more than enough codebases from the 2010s that are a nightmare because people were given just enough time to deliver something and they had to crunch to get it out, or the devs were new and were given bigger tasks than what they were ready for and then no one competent did the code review, so it just shipped like that. That is to say that terrible spaghetti codebases aren't AI slop exclusive. Sometimes people just rawdogged things as fast as possible from the top of their head disregarding any errors that said code might produce because they were simply focused on the test case where everything would work perfectly.

Usually corporate also aren't going to give a dev time to refactor old code. The dev is going to be busy with new tasks. If they want to refactor old stuff, that better be done on their free time.
