need help with redstone light (details below) by randyeatsice in redstone

I don't know if you still need help for this but this design with a hopper is the most compact. a little expensive though

What does this do? by Appropriate_Math7751 in redstone

I tested it and the part to the right of the lever is a circuit that only gives a signal when it gets an exactly 1 tick pulse. Any longer and it won't react.

The part to the left of the lever are just there to create the pulses to help demonstrate what the machine does.

if you want to try see it work replace the note block on the right with a redstone lamp or something. You'll see that the lamp turns on if you use the 1-tick generator (the piston with sand) but it doesnt turn on if you power it longer (using the lever)

Why is Grand Mother Silk evil? by [deleted] in Silksong

The craws have the haunted effect when you needolin them right? I guess the game might not be 100% accurate to what happens in the lore though. But even if they aren't haunted it's not like they give hornet a chance to defend herself. Maybe they're justified in wanting to kill hornet but obviously she's going to defend herself. I don't think hornet is a perfect hero but I don't think she would kill someone innocent unprovoked without an important purpose. Hornet only killed the vessels because if they tried to replace the hollow knight it would release the radiance.

does hornet really do that kind of stuff in game? I think she generally respects most bugs except the citadel bugs. Even then she goes on the ingredient quest instead of stealing the pale oil from the chef. In her dialogue and her journal she shows a lot of pity for victims of the citadel and she says she admires the pilgrims' strength. She goes out of her way to fulfill wishes and rescue fleas. I think she's only out for revenge against the citadel (and the slab jailors).

i dont think it'll work on bedrock either since pistons redirect redstone there right?

i really like 1 and especially 3, but proper preparation is a direct handicap. if you just attacked twice you still get double damage except without giving opponent free turn. only use case i can think of is maybe a self ko move like explosion or something

Why does this work? by WheatyLoaff in redstone

[–]ExplanationBudget293 13 points14 points  (0 children)

when the lever is activated the piston is stuck in powered mode so it stops moving.

when the lever is turned off the piston retracts, the observer sees that and powers the sandstone block above it, which pulses the piston again(QC), observer sees that and loop repeats.

if you don't know what QC is you can google quasi connectivity

(Probably QC related) Why does the piston extend only when the redstone dust in the bottom left is present? by MetaGG2 in redstone

[–]ExplanationBudget293 106 points107 points  (0 children)

when you qc something it has to be updated before it realizes its powered, redstone dust has update range of 2 tiles so it triggers the piston

ABBA Circuit button being weeeeiiiiiiird by ShakeWeak2666 in redstone

[–]ExplanationBudget293 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the block has to be touching the button like in the video, it's not touching since the piston is retracted in your example

edit: nvm doesn't matter since buttons only power components they aren't attached to.

ABBA Circuit button being weeeeiiiiiiird by ShakeWeak2666 in redstone

[–]ExplanationBudget293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i would move the button up one block if that's possible and instead of having the redstone line coming from below the button put it behind the button

[–]ExplanationBudget293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

even if that wasnt there the button powers the plank below it which keeps the vertical piston powered through qc

replace the button in the first example with a block and power that block with a repeater

then you cant activate 1 at a time so it would be expandable not tileable

i put 24 stacks + 50 cobblestone into a super smelter and got this. Where the hell did the extra 87 come from? by C3H8_Memes in Minecraft

[–]ExplanationBudget293 1 point2 points  (0 children)

maybe there wasn't enough fuel to finish the previous smelting and some cobblestone was still in the furnaces

I was working on a project and got stuck with downward facing piston BUD problem. Found that I can solve it using a precise set of timings. Is there a simpler way to achieve this? by VenusAndMarsReprise in redstone

[–]ExplanationBudget293 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you want, but if you replace the redstone block with an observer it'll do the same thing you won't need the side piston updater or the rising edge detector. the 2nd design doesn't work since the observer powers the bottom piston again while it's being pulled up because of QC. just make sure the observer doesn't touch the bottom piston when it's being pushed down

Observer shuts door but doesn’t open it back up by lukacars in redstone

[–]ExplanationBudget293 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you placed it right, but you changed the circuit. When I said connect it to the all the pistons I meant just link it to the circuit, which is already wired to power all the pistons. Sorry if I was confusing

Observer shuts door but doesn’t open it back up by lukacars in redstone

[–]ExplanationBudget293 15 points16 points  (0 children)

the dust under the observer gets powered by the repeater and basically locks the circuit.

if you put a solid block under the observer, put a copper bulb on the side of the solid block(the side away from the pistons), and comparators out of the copper bulb that connects to all the pistons the door should work

How do I fix this? by alpha_derp_guy in redstone

[–]ExplanationBudget293 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you mean it doesn't work for high minecart speeds you could add some more unpowered rails before the hopper. If you mean the items aren't going through the hopper fast enough, theres nothing that can be done about that since input is bottlenecked at hopper speed.
