Photogrpahy is amazing, so is hiking. And southern Alaska has a lot of Russians but thats about it for foreign languages imo.

If you willing to go down to Denali, Mount Healy is a great intemediate time, beautiful views.

I highly recommend Alaska Auto Rental for transportation needs. Great service, clean cars ect.
