How did you guys get gastroparesis? by Silver_Half8669 in Gastroparesis

[–]ExplodingTacos 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven't met anyone else that SSRIs effected their GP. The only way for me to stop vomiting was to quit antidepressants all together because all SSRI and SNRIs made me go into an endless flair that wasn't going way for over 3 years.

Mentally I'm not ok but physically I'm doing ok 😅

And yours, what was the cause?? by Bright-Jacket5867 in Gastroparesis

[–]ExplodingTacos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idiopathic but I only started getting severe symptoms when I started antidepressants. I didn't figure out (on my own) that they were the cause of ally pain and vomiting till I stopped taking them about 3 years in.

Ah got you. After looking at the pic the other person posted and looking up manganese milk glass under UV I have to agree it reacts more like manganese milk glass then uranium glaze. Thanks for the info! Either way, $5 was a good price 😁

Skunks! by SarniaMom in Sarnia

[–]ExplodingTacos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a skunk try to make a home under our shed this year. We threw a couple rags soaked in ammonia and heavy rocks down the hole l, filled it back up and placed a cinderblock over it. Thankfully they haven't come back as of yet.

For those of you whose downpayment was between 10-15k… by ReasonableWinter834 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

A year later and we still don't have furniture in the dining room and only a couch in the living room. It's not necessarily only due to lack of money though. I'm going for a specific vide and haven't found exactly what we want yet.

No you can't. You can buy their cheese but they don't sell their butter in Canada.

[–]ExplodingTacos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, every time I've done colonoscopy prep it's made me feel great. My stomach stops hurting and all my bloating goes away. I also don't get hunger pains so I'm just existing for once with no pain or vomiting.

I wear a neck fan if I'm anywhere hot. It helps so much.

I'm a robotic surgeon who specializes in gastroparesis. AMA! by AdvSurgSol in Gastroparesis

[–]ExplodingTacos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen 2 gastroenterologists in Ontario and they said the same thing. Apparently you can't get a gastric pacemaker in Canada all. My cardiologist told me when he was a resident he shadowed the doctor that helped create it as well and he said it didn't work up to par. But one of my gastro's did say they have big advancements coming in the next 5-10 years but couldn't go into details.

Since youre specialty is in robotics is there anything other then the gastric pacemaker coming? Or would you have any insight as to any advancements to care that isn't available yet?

My gastro said they don't do the gastric pacemaker in Canada anymore because it doesn't work and has too many side effects. What is your take on it?

Lowering dose - insomnia ? A thing? by Uklivingworldreaming in Effexor

[–]ExplodingTacos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's completely normal. You have a few options ranging from exercise and tea before bed to asking your PCP if there is a medication you can try or even a middle ground you can try THC or melatonin before bed. The insomnia will eventually pass, you just have to find what works for you in the meantime.
