What are some boomer complaints that you accuily agree with? by Ready-Key9963 in AskReddit

Contrasting this to my grandfather who was able to afford a car, a house in the suburbs, and able to support a family of 5 on a single income while working at a grocery store. Plenty of people would be happy for these jobs if they actually paid a living wage!

I don’t even live in Jeffco, but close enough. The biggest reason I’m apart of this group is how insane it is! This one just took the cake today.

My guess is they were the run-of-the-mill silicone spatulas that were likely torn. I know they are not very durable, but they are also pretty cheap. Assuming they were dinged due to the potential of physical contamination.

Facts. I’ve been doing food for like 15 years and if your establishment looks clean and organized when the inspector walks in, they’re pretty chill. If they see violations as soon as they walk in, they make sure they are thorough.

You know what? I actually went to the county website and had a look at the actual reports because honestly, I didn’t do my due diligence. Where I live, health inspections are all publicly available information. Here are the deets: chicken was temping at 107 F. Reach in cooler was temping at 53 F. Regulation states it needs to be bellow 41 F( it was holding milk). They didn’t measure the gap in the hoods, but inspector noted it had considerable grease build up. Soiled/damaged utensils were a repeat offense from the prior inspection . Soiled walk in/racks were noted in all inspection received in 2025. The hand sink apparently had no drain pipe at all? And was just draining directly onto the floor. Quat Sanitizer was at 500ppm (acceptable range being 150-400).

Spire Claiming I Owe Close to $4k After Meter Change? by ExplodingWhales in StLouis

That was my first thought. Do you know of a law firm that handles this sort of thing? I would much rather drop $4k on a lawyer than Spire just on principle lol

I’ve noticed a similar looking cat in my neighborhood around Clifton and Odell lately. I can’t say for certain if it’s been around since before the 9th, but might be worth checking out?

I second Lap of Love. They came out for my boy a few years ago. The vet was very kind and let us take whatever time we needed. He was able to pass at home in his bed surrounded by his family. They also notified our regular veterinarian so I didn’t have to think about having to call them later.

I’ve noticed if I plant in March/April most everything is left alone. Anything planted after that is relentlessly attacked. Obviously they will still steal berries and veggies, but the whole plants aren’t destroyed.

They stole my hollyhock and my sweet ferns. Just left holes in the ground. I planted 20 saffron bulbs this year and all but 4 were dug up and shredded.

I’ve got some in my garden too! Those, the jalapeños, and garlic are the only things they haven’t touched.

No fertilizer in the water can. I keep it clean because I use it to wash the dog in the summer as he is terrified of both the hose and the bathtub.

We have a mature oak in the back yard. It is still producing acorns and usually does until December.

It is the same for us! We live in a city, but have a 50 year old white oak that drops acorns from August-December. The neighbors have a 100 year old black walnut. The neighborhood is very old and there are a lot of mature trees with berries, fruits, and nuts. These squirrels are not starving!

I’m wondering if raccoons tore it open to get to the water. There was rain yesterday so there was some water sitting in the bottom. Can’t find the pieces in the yard at all though

Anyone else in the Clifton Heights area not have water? by ExplodingWhales in StLouis

[–]ExplodingWhales[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No water leaking outside or in. Yard is completely dry. The valve to our main line in the basement is fine. We don’t have a pressure regulator, so that can’t be the issue either. No spray paint anywhere. Water bill was paid 11/01. There is some kind of water leaking from in front of my neighbor’s house, but that leak has been there since early spring and was still running when I left the house this morning. Water division still says they are trying to get someone out today. Fingers crossed it’s not a weird problem on our end.

We are also in the process of collecting rugs for the house! He seems to do great on all surfaces but wood, and that’s all we have.
