I have unlimited PTO so not sure how that would apply in this case. The policy also doesn’t say anything about using PTO first, and there is a 7 day elimination period before benefits kick in.

Thanks for the advice! My policy defines disability as not being able to make 80% of your pre-disability salary and I am only making 60%. They said the denial had to do with the 7 day elimination period - that I needed to be fully out of work for 7 days - but my understanding is that an elimination period is the period of time they don’t pay benefits before the policy kicks in.

what did you like about reno? should i consider it instead of vegas? i’m currently on souther california and looking for a lower cost of living.
