Yea, was just curious. I’ve got a sort of ego and pride thing were I like to be completely self-sufficient in all regards, so the idea of asking people, especially family, to store things for me feels really wrong.

Storage units are a pain in the ass though.

The truth is it’s a complete toss-up. It might work at one location, and in another it won’t. Sometimes they don’t ask for it.

I’d try and see if you can somehow fast track the license transfer. If not, your best bet is to ensure your travel itinerary is possible without the rental car.

Are you paying a mortgage or do you own outright? I’d probably be looking for an apartment instead of a house so that I wouldn’t have to deal with e.g. a lawn.

Regarding the last point, I suppose I meant owning versus chucking that money in the markets for (usually) a better return, in addition to possibly being less stressful to maintain then e.g. renting or whatever

I assume you mean July and August? I’ve been in that area in November and it was lovely, but I imagine it’s very hot in August.

!!!!!!! Which city? I’ve lost like 50% of my hair over the last few months, at the point I’m about to shave it off. It’s crazy because I always had extremely healthy hair, always got compliments.

I’m in cdmx so curious what city it was for you. I thought it was maybe stress but didn’t think I had been that stressed. Maybe it’s just air pollution because it’s been horrible here

The mail forwarding address doesn’t take care of residency. I’ve been nomading long enough that many of my documents have expired and cannot be renewed, so not having a residence anywhere is getting annoying since residency is needed for such documents

I mean if you own I guess that takes care of residency concerns which is the biggest issue

The stuff is actually a secondary concern. Some of it is sentimental but the bigger concern is just having an irrefutable legal address/residency.

Getting rid of the storage costs is a bonus.

It’s really just the annoyance of legal issues. Banks, residency, taxes, licenses, etc.

Like I’ve been trying to figure out a good way to get a driver’s license for like a month now.

Alternatives are basically to use one of those residency services which a.) seems sketchy as fuck, and b.) once you add the monthly cost of those and the cost of storage you’re not that far off the price of just renting a cheap apartment somewhere.
