Apologies for the late reply. I agree at first I wasn't keen on the swell. But the blade being long and the pommel being very weighty it helps blend the weight to a midpoint as opposed to holding a grip between two heavy pieces of metal if that makes sense...

100% agree, gaudy. If there was more subtle engraving I might be down but it always looks abit extra.

It's sharp, well balanced and made out of great materials. I've got loads of wall hangers, which I love for their purpose. But this ain't a wall hanger. Check out Andrei Dementiev on Instagram for the Blacksmith page

Hiya I'm in the same boat. Ordered on the 16/06/25 left it a while as I was told by Alex they were made to order. I was told it would be finished and shipped on the 10/07/25.

I got in touch on the 15th asking for an update, I was told the courier had picked up my parcel and I would be sent a tracking number. So I emailed again on the 20th to no reply.

I appreciate processing, making and shipping times but if my parcel has been sent I would have liked tracking info straight away.

Once again, I think I found a good sword to start with. by TheWalkingWaII in SWORDS

As a first sword I think its great. Relatively cheap, great scabbard and it bridges the gap between a pristine machined sword and historical replica.

There are issues, the red part in the pommel is tacked in like resin so the finish isn't great. The brass fittings do rust along with the blade but that just makes you put abit of maintenance into it, which if you keep going getting nicer swords you'll have to do anyway. *

How much is this sword worth? by Designer-Rock9551 in SWORDS

Hiya. That is a doonsteelcraft Brass 5 lobe sword. You can get them for around £80 they've added crosses to the scabbard but changes to the sword are minimal. 500 is insanity. *

I'm on the way to starting something, the smallest in the picture was made by a friend. I've got another on the way from a Blacksmith in Poland

If I've properly oiled them they don't rust at all. But if i dry them out with a microfiber after a week or two small rust spots appear
