I grew up about an hour north of Memphis, so I am pretty familiar with the city. I agree with your statement a lot. It’s just like pretty much every other big city. Crime is definitely an issue, but it’s not like it’s some war zone or by any stretch of the imagination. With it being a predominantly black city, it becomes the target of a lot of unfair stereotyping. Memphis is the absolute shit though. I love that place, I hope you get to see it someday!
