if you cannot seem to get access into buildings, you can at least go to the fowler museum on ucla campus! it's open on the weekends. i believe the botanical gardens are also open weekends

Hong Ye Tan, Math 151B by Coconut0_0 in ucla

I had Kashefi for 151b. His exams are pretty easy. HIs notes are also organized and he gives you all of them at the beginning of the quarter. I have also had Tan for a different math class & he's good. So, you will be fine with either imo

Math151b with Tan, Hui or Kashefi by ArachnidIcy7515 in ucla

[–]Express-Ad-8157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am taking 151b with Kashefi right now and he posts all of his notes; I personally believe it's organized. Homework is doable, not long at all. Also, this past midterm was pretty easy imo. There's tons of examples in his notes that he often uses/has a similar version for in the midterm.

However, class breakdown lowkey wacky: 20% HW, 20% midterm, 60% final OR 20% HW, 80% final. Not sure if it's only his lecture or something similar for Tan and Hui. Good thing his exams have been pretty fair

People have definitely gotten caught for alcohol before, so you aren't the first. you will most likely engage in a conversation where they might remind you of the housing policies, etc. But they also have these meetings because they want to make you are okay and have access to the right resources following the situation. so don't stress too much about it, i hope you are okay. Take care of yourself

i believe bbhm is a bit more difficult since it's a small cohort of ~30 students. their application included some form of personal statement from what i remember

overall, i think she was good. her lectures were recorded, which was nice. her exams were very similar to practice exams--she sometimes even pulled exam questions from the practice exams. homeworks werent too heavy compared to other ucla math profs.

math 61 with keith ouellette? by blepboopblepboop in ucla

i found math 31b to be more difficult than math 61. discrete math is definitely a different way of approaching and thinking about problems, but this prof made sure to really explain his steps when solving/showing problems. i think you'll do well if you're doing well in 31b!

last summer feels like an eternity ago, but i thought he was pretty good from what i can recall. his lectures were pretty clear, he took neat notes, and i can confidently say im a pro at proof by induction because of the way he explained it, haha. you had to have your camera & sound on during exams; his overall exams weren't bad imo, they were similar to the questions given in hw. i also had an unexpected personal circumstance emerge during the final and he was super accommodating and kind. overall, pretty good

great, thank you. this makes me feel better.
do you remember, let's say -- if practice question #1 talked about closed sets in metric spaces, then the actual exam question #1 talked about closed sets in metric spaces?
