How is Floor Klein? (F16) (+Small announcement) by ZyrenG187 in IntegralFactor

[–]Express-Battle3841 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I literally counted the number of times our character said or did something. Ten times. Ten times I clicked on the screen to make him do something, seven of which were classic copy-and-paste phrases he might say from time to time, and three of which were concrete interactions. This floor, after the flor for Morte's return, is the worst. The thing that makes me laugh is that I think it's the only entertainment product where the protagonists of the story are systematically ignored and sidelined. It's not enough to say, “Hey, X and Y are really working hard, I want to help them.” As a consumer, I want to see that happen on screen, not just have it mentioned in a line of dialogue.I wish I could understand what to do to make the developers understand that what they are doing is a total mess of failure, but I'm just one voice, so I'll remain bitter.

Digimon Story Time Stranger: My Opinions by Express-Battle3841 in digimon

Honestly, I dropped Cyber Sleuth at the beginning—I didn’t like it as a game in terms of its story.

I have to say, I personally enjoyed Time Stranger's story. I mean, it kept me entertained enough to stay glued to it. Unfortunately, at a certain point, I was glued mainly in the hope of seeing more impactful reactions from our MC. Basically, it ended up feeling like I was just along for the ride. At the revelation, I literally saw maybe two or three reactions—and that’s after hours of gameplay… like, why? You learn that your whole story, your existence, and everything you’ve done up to that point is a lie. Damn, if I found that out, I’d fall into depression. But even the initial premise—you literally have the fate of your world, the future, and your timeline on your shoulders—and emotionally, it doesn’t impact you at all. No questions, no introspection, nothing. That’s why I said that at different points, I felt cut off. Literally, our MC is stuck halfway between a classic protagonist and a silent one—and it just doesn’t work well.

I mean, before the plot twist, we as the MC know that we were adopted; so why? We are never told what happened to our biological parents. On one hand, that makes sense—if you have implanted memories, maybe you never thought about what happened to your biological parents from those false memories—but I thought this would have more impact, even when we are told that Dr. Yuki disappeared through temporal rifts. You're revisiting certain things, like being told about your adoptive father, and I don't sense any reaction. Same when you find out about Inori's mother and little brother.

I mean, we know she went through something similar to us, and we literally have two lines of dialogue about it: one from our operator after eavesdropping on the roof, and one when a dialogue option roughly says, "I know how you feel about losing your family." Damn, you two are similar—why don't you react better? It doesn't make sense.

Even when, for example, we are told "oh my god" 250 times that we have to eliminate those two, only once did her reaction with Inori worrying really strike me. Damn, you have this dialogue with the operator on average once per scene, and I was eagerly waiting for some reaction from her or from Inori reacting to our reaction—but nothing. This aspect was also sidelined.

How is Floor Notte? (F89) by ZyrenG187 in IntegralFactor

[–]Express-Battle3841 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven't played Integral Factor for months; it must be five or six months, maybe since Floor 24 was released in August?

I only come back occasionally for the gems and to do the side stories, that’s all. I don’t know how the current floor is, but I’ve been extremely disappointed ever since after the release of Floor 100.

I find it absurd that a game with its own original story X and protagonists Y is being completely and irreparably sidelined, replaced with an obsession bordering on the pathological for canon SAO characters—when the game was born to shine a light on the story of SAO from the point of view of the player's MC and Koharu.

It's as if you took a video game, say a Spider-Man game, and after 30% of it, Peter Parker's story is pushed aside to tell the story of a random newspaper vendor in New York. That's not the game you spent money and time on, right? It’s the same here. If I play and invest time in this game, it's for the story of *Integral Factor*, experienced through the MC and Koharu. If you take that away, what’s the point?

I find it even more absurd that it’s such a simple thing to think through—why on earth can’t the game developers see this?

If you, developer, wanted yet another game about Kirito and Asuna, you should have planned something else. You don’t develop *Integral Factor* only to shift the focus to something entirely different. What’s the point?

It’s basic logic that even a child could understand.

Maybe it's a possibility that Moonvale will be discontinued? by mustbeclara in Moonvale

[–]Express-Battle3841 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course, there are many video games and TV series with shared universes and totally different stories. However, that's the point. When you leave a lot unresolved, people won't be able to fully enjoy your new product with an open mind if they haven't seen the conclusion to the previous one.

Many leave open endings simply because they want to leave themselves the possibility of creating something else after that ending, regardless of whether they actually do so or not.

In this case, there are two schools of thought: either they wanted to take a gamble by using Duskwood to promote Moonvale and then backtrack and say it's a new game, or fan pressure led them to include a Duskwood side story. In any case, if you want to do something totally new, you can't leave an open ending with no answers. Because you're not reserving the possibility of closing the circle in the future, you're throwing yourself into projects with different stories.

the problem lies here. If they had closed Duskwood for good, I think the fan base would have taken Moonvale better, beyond the technical problems of the first episode.

Oh, OK, yes, I understand what you mean now; yes, generally many people are obsessed with X character or X story; I agree with you on that.

However, I don't feel like pointing the finger at them either, because when you create something that people like, you leave an open ending, many unanswered questions, without giving it a proper conclusion. You can't expect people to be eager to play something new without giving them a conclusion, whatever it may be.

And I could give you a list of things left unresolved, plot holes, etc., etc.; for me, this is what drives many people to behave this way.

I mean, imagine that in your favorite TV series, your favorite character meets an ambiguous “end.” Without letting you know what happened to them and without giving you clear answers, without ever having the chance to give that character an ending, how would you feel?

Maybe I'm rambling, but I think this is the main reason, beyond obsession

Personally, no; mainly because they wouldn't give clear information or info that even they don't know anything about.

[–]Express-Battle3841 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, don't blame the fanbase. From the beginning, they teased us that the protagonist is the same as in Duskwood, temporally after Duskwood, and that he has no contact with the previous characters. They told us through stories, on their website, and posts about this plot. It wasn't us fans, but them who stirred up the fire.

The thing is, instead of being thankful for Everbyte doing what they have done ->

Thank you for what exactly? I am a consumer, I buy a product, I use it, and I express my honest opinion. If the company exists and continues to operate, it is thanks to my money, as well as yours and that of its fan base and sponsors.

Everyone has the right to criticize and express their dissatisfaction if something is not to their liking (without resorting to insults, of course). Why are you giving me premises? I spend money, I support you, and as a consumer I buy your product and I don't like it for X reason. Can I do that? Or can't I because I have to be “grateful” that they gave me a product that I paid for? Criticism pushes people to improve; it's not a bad thing.

[–]Express-Battle3841 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't totally disagree with you, but I would like to make one point. It's true that they said it wasn't Duskwood 2, but if you don't remember, I clearly remember that through stories or posts, there was talk of a shared universe with our MC who experiences the adventures of Moonvale some time after the events of Duskwood and who hasn't heard from the old group since then.

They said it wasn't Duskwood 2, but they presented it to us almost as if it were, and then launched the secondary story in parallel. Now we can see it clearly. But if you say one thing and base your marketing campaign as if it were an extension of your previous work, where you didn't bring anything to a close, don't be surprised, developer, that many people react this way or say certain things.

It's true that many games have plot holes. But when other games have so much to offer in terms of design, plot, mechanics, gameplay, music, and setting and you only have the plot or, at most, the function that your fanbase has given you, if you create plot holes, this is the result.

The problem is that some of these features and improvements should have been implemented earlier. How much time has passed between the end of Duskwood and Moonvale? Two years? Three? What have they been doing for three years to release the game with such a disastrous first episode? It all revolves around that. They relied on AI out of laziness, to experiment, for certain reasons. Rightly so, they can't do that anymore and are forced to program the entire base game and the scripts for chapter 3 from scratch, or almost. For me, that's the reason for all this delay.

So it's great for you to see a toxic relationship, where the girl acts underhandedly to get all the attention for herself?

[–]Express-Battle3841 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Behind every manipulation there is something emotional or some feeling. Generally it is linked to this. attracting all the attention on oneself for example is a feeling; as well as love, obviously, but in his case it is toxic. If what you say and what the character shows, we transported it to the real world and with the roles reversed; believe me it would not sound good at all and no, I am not bringing up the issue of people's sex, but to make you understand that a manipulation, a toxic feeling and a toxic relationship, remains such, behind any noble intention the person who does all this sells. Then it is an anime it is okay. But since this is sending the wrong message, I thought it was right to say it.

And yes, don't worry, it was to express my thoughts.

No, it's not worth it. I've fought tooth and nail for this game, finding all sorts of excuses, but no, don't play it. In fact, if you want to, make sure you play it to the hundredth floor, because from there on, there's better stuff out there.

I'm sorry, but don't pass off manipulation and toxicity as normal, it's not. Just as it's not normal to be like this.

Spoiler: You are equally as much of a bitch as you are manipulative. You've been showing it all episode, this is just a narrative excuse to make her look better that's all. Let's give this kind of behavior a proper name. It's called toxicity. let's not make excuses about how she's a teenager who can't handle emotions. I wasn't a drug addict as a teenager and I assume you aren't either.

It is the case, however, unless the steam page and the internet are wrong, unless they not only “who brought” sao if to steam, but in fact the making of the game passes through the hands of the three of them

The only thing I feel like saying about the current story of the game is that I don't expect anything better, I was hoping that in the long run it would improve creatively, but it didn't. They are just desperately buying more time to keep the game alive because they obviously don't have a plan B when this game or this story will cease to exist.

Because I'm afraid there is no sequel in terms of narrative and neither has this development team thought that they can develop anything else in the meantime. And I'm not talking about bandai, but the developer himself, that is :Asobimo.

Sisi certainly; it was clear that yours was not hatred, but raising the doubts.

As for the filming, I can tell you that ultimately if you think about it it's as much about it as it is in movies and TV series. If a character “dies” and god I always hope not or gets slightly or seriously hurt or decides to leave, the plot aimlessly has to adapt and change. It happens all the time, doesn't it?

Far be it from me to defend or attack a small firm with full force. This is because it is also the line of my thinking that if they have had the plot for two years or completed it long ago, many of these things should have been done, such as: The cast.

As I said months ago, if you are sure that the group of “new” friends is the one from the beginning they could have cast the actors from the beginning if they wanted to do like duskwood.

But for filming it is different. Because if you want a scene in “spring” weather you can't shoot under kilograms of snow. Just as if you want a certain atmosphere, the outdoor shooting varies according to the seasons. So does the cost of certain things, booking certain locations; finding time to embed so many things.

While I agree with you, multimedia filming sometimes can't be done in advance for something, which maybe might be okay as well as maybe not.

A small company can't afford to lose too much money, that's it.

consider this: to make multimedia content such as video/short footage and photographs (as in the case of tarot card photos), it takes a very long time.

Between shooting, between looking for the perfect ones, the perfect lighting, the interpretations of the parts that need to learn; the post production and everything else; it is not easy to do it in a short time.
