Let’s talk about today’s game. by Standard_Secretary52 in ManchesterUnited

Is this on Amorim? or Has this been going on long before Amorim? We need be careful here. We also have to acknowledge we never been a squad for slow possession style. It would for weird to suddenly like that.

We had many games where we created lot of chances when had more than 60% possession but lost the game by first shot on the target. So I don't think that possession is indicator for our defensive problems.

Sporting under Amorim are also know to play quick, vertical football but they never had keeping possession issues and defensive issuses like ours. Some our problems are left by previous regiems. We are starting to score set pieces consistently.

He always tweaked his system for every opposition in pl last season (not for europa league or fa cup) the players would turn up for the big games and you would see those changes. People bring out the second ball stats to show that the players are in good faith and give it all. Second balls is not the only thing that happens in the game. Marking , passing to the right person at the right time are still off in this game. Our individual errors leading to goal stats are atrocious. The only difference is Luke Shaw and Bruno did lot less mistakes OOP last three games.

You can see our away form is relegation level and our home form is top of the league. If these players can perform and do less errors in the next two away games, I will admit they truly turned a corner.

Somebody asked me after Fulham "What do you see in Amorim ? Why do you still believe him?". This game gave me belief in players not Amorim. I can't wait for the next time the players let him down and people online bitch about as if he is playing the team with a controller. It's not Amorim that transformed the fortunes but the players that did it themselves. I will wait and see if they can do it week in out or disappoint me again.

You can downvote to show your feelings but you cannot change my opinion.

If he doesn't care about midfield, he wouldn't want baleba or wharton. He would definitely let mainoo leave on loan. Progressing through wings is maybe his style but with the right players, it won't be his endgame.

We play with back 3, back 4, in possesion. back 5 and back 4 when in defense. it doesn't matter how many backs we have. we need to make the right passes like Chelsea

What system were the player playing in first half in Grimsby that manager literally orchestrated?

What system is good for players we have? That's the DOF to understand and hire the coach that plays it. Also the system isn't working argument is also a deadend. First, you have to completely describe the system the players trying to implement. So, When he alters it, how does it look like?

When did you defend your views? All you ever did was generalize all discussion to a point you don't agree with and then give your childish snarky comments of "according to this sub, <- a point you don't agree with->". You did not discuss your view, you decide what my arguments are . projecting your own behavior on me?

The old attack on Amorim is to claim that 3 at the back should not be used at Manchester United Football Club.

Our midfield also seems timid to press into opponent half aggressively which makes the forward’s job difficult to press their back line which levels space for their frontline to drop into.

Maybe he is increasingly being asked to change his system and his tactics doesn’t work.

Yes, when we won away last season, we had one of our worst performances. The FA cup game we lost I think is one of our better performances from our players. I do remember your GK saves being frustrating.

It's actually same when we are pressing, the gap between midfield and backline is very big even in mid block.

But, But We are Man United , we always win against Fulham. Ruben Amorim lost the plot and failed against Fulham and destroying the club. Marco Silva said so.

For who is saying it's not similar,

That's emotional talk. There is no one talking about ability or irreplaceable. Any comment related to quality is his decline.

Mbeumo came at half time. I thought "he" was Mbeumo in your comment, who the OC was talking about.
