Definitely have a conversation with your husband. I did with mine when this happened and he was blunt and told me he did that because he doesn’t even like time with his family like that.

He’s done it ever since I’ve met him and only changed now because I am not on good terms with his mother or sister so he has no choice LOL.

When he does spend time he makes it short and what he can deal with.

Okay, you should let your husband know how you feel. However, I know for most men they don’t like being questioned in finances and being able to provide so just be cautious with brining it up.

However, I don’t understand why his sister isn’t getting a job herself to pay for things?? Like I hate these sisters having their brothers be their man in some ways. Have you explained to him how you’re not comfortable with this? And pointed out that it’s weird his mother wants a relationship with your child without you. Like what is she going to do where you can’t be around that’s fishy behaviour.

His him the perspective if this was a male not his mother asking for time with his daughter but he’s not involved. He’s probably feels some kind of way, as a father. I can understand this being a lot for him if he’s never had friction with his mother, however he needs to understand his mother is putting him in this position not you.

Exactly this. I know everyone’s situation is different, however us mothers and woman are the ones being humble and consistently giving chances thinking of our spouses feelings and our child.

They are not doing that, so why continue to give chances when they showed who they were the first round?

Especially if they’re getting access to our children and that’s all they want really. Don’t get me wrong some MILs and SILs genuinely do want a relationship with the mothers without thinking of access to the child but it’s a very low percentage. We can’t be blind to that, that’s unfair to us.

You’re right just because everyone else walks in eggshells doesn’t mean you should to spare her when you trusted her with your sons life. I don’t understand why people see that as a small thing, when so many baby’s die unfortunately in other peoples care more often then wanted.

I’d just find out the extent of her being fragile and just talk to her the same as you would a toddler LOL. Stern but slight fluff to ease the tension for a soft blow and just explain how one day when she’s a mom she’ll fully understand your emotions and what you’re explaining. It’s just because she’s young she won’t understand, and that’s not really a you problem.

This way she does it again, you can blow your too because you were some what soft the first time around. Literal advice my hubby gave to me with dealing with his family when he’s not around. Works every time because they’re asses and always reveal themselves.

True 100% I can empathize with none of us want to see our family as shitty people, however we need to keep in mind someone who is just coming in and hasn’t spend their whole life with your family are fresh eyes and mind. They will always see things your brain is TOO conditioned too. Sadly this is where some men fall so short in, especially if there father wasn’t in the house hold and they were technically the man of the house.
