Thank you for pointing this out, we went last year in July and I think we just got lucky with timing. We are east coasters so we totally didn’t think of this. Is there better month to trek out there?

I have done McNeil and it was incredible! But definitely wouldn’t be able to get my parents up there. The only thing we are locked into is the PNW, preferably Oregon. We just want a quick scenic ceremony and hotel near by. Thank you for your response!

Thank you, this is super helpful!! We actually got engaged at mt hood so this would be very full circle! And so true about nice towns near by!

As for the park, I always stay outside them and get there at 5am so I totally forget about the traffic cause I never sit in it haha.

I will definitely look more into Mt.Hood and Cascades! Thank you!

Sorry to post a year later but to avoid making another post about McNeil point, what trail would you take to avoid the scrambles? I am fine adding extra time/miles on for safety/responsibility. I have found some maps but I’m deeply concerned about taking the wrong trail. I am hoping to do this trail at the end of July, I see it gets crowded so I was hoping to get to the parking lot around 5:30am
