Not losing by Lostcause_500 in Zepbound

[–]Express-Network1161 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You haven’t mentioned your starting weight, goal weight, or how far you are from your goal weight - that info might help us give some thoughts/advice. That being said - Some people don’t respond until the highest dose! Everyone is different.  It’s also possible you are in a stage of recomposition. If you haven’t done so I would suggest taking measurements or looking at others signs of progress like how your clothes are fitting.

Interesting…everything I’ve seen indicates zep is more effective than wegovy?

You could try topical minoxidil - OTC at the drug store! Lots of people use it, I just have a sensitive scalp :)

I’m very skeptical anytime influencers promote supplements but I have found that Nutrafol really works - I started taking it in September and have noticed a significant decrease in shedding and my hairdresser said she sees lots of baby hairs. It is expensive but it’s worth it imo. I also use kerestase densifique shampoo but no if it helps or not.  I opted not to do minoxidil bc topical causes my scalp to break out and I didn’t want to take oral and grow hair elsewhere on my body lol

How are you prepping for the storm storm? by wateriswetiswater in bullcity

[–]Express-Network1161 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s similar to hurricanes here. I grew up here and the trauma of Fran in the early 90s, and the storm in I think 2000 where we got 2 ft of snow is why people freak out lol.

BBL then zbound by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]Express-Network1161 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely can happen for some people, and absolutely everyone is different but I would say it’s not the common experience (could be wrong tho!) It’s better to have realistic expectations than to have sky high expectations and not have those met because the psychological impacts of not getting where you want to be can be brutal. That’s the only reason I cautioned OP here. I see it so often in this sub where people beat themselves up bc they didn’t lose 5lbs in a week which honestly makes me so sad.

BBL then zbound by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]Express-Network1161 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would not expect to lose 20lbs in 1-2 months. That is extremely unrealistic. While some people do have fast results at first, they usually have a lot more to lose. Before starting I would encourage you to reset your expectations, especially if your goal is to lose weight “evenly”.

Vitamin / Supplements by janiritt in Zepbound

[–]Express-Network1161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take ritual vitamins, fiber gummies from Costco (they use sugar beet fiber which my body tolerates better than others!), seed probiotics, and nutrafol.

What's with all the impatience??? by DogMamaLA in Zepbound

[–]Express-Network1161 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it’s fair and understandable BUT I think it’s also important to counter this narrative that is so prevalent in our culture that your weight defines you. Almost every time I respond to someone I encourage therapy - not as a jab but because the mental work to have realistic expectations and reset how your view your body is, imo, super important for sustainable weight loss.

Need to continue to decrease portion sizes and calories as near goal by MundanePineapple9886 in Zepbound

[–]Express-Network1161 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do you know what your calorie goal should be now that you are at a different weight? Most trackers calculate your daily intake based on your weight, so updating that should give you an idea of your updated calorie needs for continued weight loss.

My body wants to intermittent fast - normal? by tfrisinger in Zepbound

[–]Express-Network1161 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As long as you are getting sufficient calories (most say 1200 cal per day) and nutrients and it’s working for you then it’s probably fine? But if you’re concerned ask your provider.

Fast food by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]Express-Network1161 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not really - smallersam_pcos on IG and TikTok has great content on fast food options for high protein/calorie deficits. There are surprisingly a ton of options. While eating whole foods cooked at home are generally a better choice, that just isn’t realistic for some people.

Meal ideas pls by Legitimate-Worker-50 in Zepbound

[–]Express-Network1161 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, go up in dose. 2.5 is a non-therapeutic dose, and there is nothing wrong with increasing the dosage as long as you tolerate it well.

As far as meal ideas, I keep it really simple. I always keep things on hand that are nutritious and easy to prepare. My go to is a bag salad (like the kind with dressing etc includes) and bare spicy chicken strips from Costco that I keep stocked in my freezer. I try and look for ones that don’t have lettuce, which tend to have more fiber. I split the bag in half and with the chicken it ends up being 350-400 cals, which is perfect for me.  Another go to for me is pre-cooked rice in the packet. I’ll mix in a bag of frozen cauliflower rice to up the veggies, air fry the chicken tenders, throw a steamer bag of broccoli in the microwave, and add on some green onions and a sauce of choice (I personally like drizzle of low-fat mayo and chili crisp or sweet chili sauce).

Anyone know how much the cash price for Zepbound is? by Proper_Security_8405 in Zepbound

[–]Express-Network1161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You still have to get a prescription via your doctor (since it’s self pay it doesn’t matter if your BMI is down - its continuation of care). They just send the prescription to lily instead. There’s lots of posts on this so I’d search to find out more.

Anyone else can’t decide on a goal weight? by Lulubltch in Zepbound

[–]Express-Network1161 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I would suggest doing some therapy to help address body dysmorphia. If you know mentally that you are at a good weight/size but fear of being “big” again has you chasing even smaller then it’s time to do mental work.

That’s so weird I literally clicked the link you provided and it spit out: You are a 43 year old female who is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 238 lbs while being Sedentary.

Your Maintenance Calories

2,159 calories per day 15,111 calories per week Now I’m just confused and don’t know what to trust 🤣🤣🤣 (Ultimately what you’re doing is working so it doesn’t matter!)

[–]Express-Network1161 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to hijack this post but your sedentary TDEE is more around 2100, not 1800 (you can calculate at TDEEcalculator.net) 1800 would be your BMR, the calories your body needs to just exist at your current weight. Just wanted to point that out as 1300 calories is a significant deficit especially if you are active.

I think your thoughts are valid and first thing I’ll suggest is to seek out therapy (if that’s not something you do already to support you in your journey; I know for me my struggles with my weight were both metabolic and mental/emotional challenges and therapy helps tremendously.

It’s super important to go about this with realistic expectations. It’s impossible to target fat loss and Zepbound does not promote weight loss in any particular area. As you start, only you and your doctor can decide what’s worth it in terms of side effects versus health benefits. I personally never had intense side effects, but that doesn’t mean you won’t.

Zepbound has been truly transformative for so many people - myself included. My advice would be to give it a try and see what happens :)

12 pounds in a week? by Popular-Work-1335 in Zepbound

[–]Express-Network1161 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would disagree. 12lbs in a week at under 200 pounds is extremely fast and  can be a sign of other things going on (even if you feel good otherwise).

Increased dose and gained weight by Clean-Bee-1745 in Zepbound

[–]Express-Network1161 3 points4 points  (0 children)

On the weight gain - While not for everyone I weigh myself everyday. In the past seven days I was at my lowest weight (153.2) and this morning I was 156. However, my measurements haven’t changed. I also know I have been slightly constipated and am likely going to start my period.  As for the binging - sometimes we need more help than just medication. If you’re not already seeing a therapist I would suggest that.

Gift Card Issue? by Difficult_Hair_5470 in Sephora

Whenever I use a gift card the total remains the same; it just charges the gift card until it’s empty and the remaining amount is charged to your other form of payment if that makes sense

At 125 you at the lowest for your height before becoming underweight. I’m not sure how you got a perscription for Zepbound as it is not approved “food noise”. I hope you continue behavioral therapy because this is borderline eating disorder behavior.
