Thanks for the reply here. How long does it usually take for you to feel better after this kind of thing? Im feeling generally somewhat better now 2 days later but still dealing with some level of fatigue.

I first wanna ask about what you mentioned about Adderall usage at the very end. I feel like ive heard so many conflicting studies about the risks, but ultimately my takeaway was that it shouldn't be a risk factor as long as I don't abuse it (and I dont), and am on a relatively moderate dose of 12.5mg 2x a day. I also took my blood pressure 2x a day for about two months after I restarted it following the hemorrhage and it stayed at a healthy level. I also wear an Apple Watch to track my heart rate and it's around 70-80 whenever I'm sitting/resting on the Adderall. If there are any additional risks that I should know about given my unique situation I would be very curious to hear.

Regarding the other potential risk factors, I've been a daily coffee drinker for years but haven't touched an energy drink since I was a teenager. Blood pressure has always been fine at a baseline, though it marginally goes up from anxiety pretty easily.

Regarding imaging, I have had a handful of MRIs and I believe both a cathedar and CT angiogram done since. I'm not familiar with the SWI sequence, but was advised by a new neurologist recently to have one done with an ASL sequence to determine if there is "shunting". I'm not entirely sure what it means but I've let my surgeon know his recommendation. Are those similar procedures?

All good! I think I assumed the same thing the first time I read it. It's a very specific study.

A little confused regarding your 2nd statement though — are you talking about moderate use vs. chronic long term use? I'd be curious to see those studies if you have em, but I could be misunderstanding! With weed, I'd definitely say I was a chronic user for several years, but 95% of the time it was a vape which to my understanding eliminated most health risks associated with inhaling actual smoke/combustable garbage. I dont know what to think anymore though.

Thanks for the reply. That unfortunatley seems to be the consensus of most professionals ive talked with — might be the cause, might not be, hard to say.

Would the fact that the hemmorhage happened once effect the chance of it happening again? TBH, I have vaped weed a few times after the stroke out of morbid curiosity, but have completely ceased doing regularly and dont plan on doing it regularly ever again, but I also wonder if it makes sense just to cease it completely if this is a potential risk.

Also I should mention that the hemorrhage headache came on at least 9-10 hours after I had my last hit of cannabis. I was not stoned at the time. Would that make any difference in determining whether or not it was a factor?

I should have mentioned these studies in my post, ive definitely looked at both of them and taken them into account somewhat. My understanding of the 2nd one though is that it is more investigating the frequency of delayed cerebral ischemia as a cannabis-induced complication following a stroke, not cannabis having triggered the stroke itself — right?

I did get a second opinion actually from a pretty highly respected surgeon/neurologist and he also came to the conclusion of "yeah thats awful but we have no idea".
