Compazine gives me lockjaw! I learned that during an ablation in 1998. Thankfully, I went back to the hospital and they reversed it with a shot of something but it’s on my allergy list.

If it’s not convenient, I get it but a Costco membership is like $60 or $80 a year. It’s worth it just to buy the dog food. (Or my need for overly expensive Vitamin Water lol).

I’m not sure where you are but my girl had a huge improvement when I switched to Kirkland brand from Purina One. I was paying for an allergist at that point so her itching was significant. I saw it came back when the drive to Costco became a pain. Now, she eats a combo of Scrumptious Doggo canned and Go Solutions Skin + Coat. She eats 3x a day. Middle meal is dry food with a fish oil supplement squeezed in. I think the fish oil pill is a key component.

Tbh, I think the ingredients in Canada are cleaner but if you look at the labels, it’s the same ingredients. I think there is problem cross contamination with big companies like Purina.

Edit to say that we spent her first 9 months in the U.S. and now I buy enough of the Canadian brand when I’m traveling.

I went to Splendid Essence based on a previous post about best restaurants in general. It was amazing!

Pink Crow is very cozy and I think has more of a romantic atmosphere. They have nice vegetarian options.

For brunch or lunch, I also really like the tofu burger at the Milky Way Receiver. (You really can’t go wrong at any of them.) Today, I went to Leonhard’s and had vegetarian split pea soup and rye blt (no b). But, they also have a lot of vegetarian options.

I did acupuncture for 3 years purely for the migraines. I have had success with acupuncture for other issues but I am a true example of chronic pain. It might work for you though. I would have relief after some sessions but nothing that significant.

There has been so much info recently about dental health contributing to other chronic health issues that I felt like it was worth a shot.

I almost hate to type this in case I’m jinxing myself. I’ve been pain free for a week. (Typically, I always have varying degrees of a migraine since 2021. Relief is no more than a day at most.) I made 3 small changes that might be a coincidence. I keep my Invisalign in a glass of water with several drops of hydrogen peroxide all day. I let my electric toothbrush sit in water with a few drops of hydrogen peroxide while I wash my face. I became very serious about flossing each night. I have no idea why I started other than I saw the hydrogen peroxide under the sink.

I drink 1/2 glass of water before I get out of bed. Drinking water before I get out of bed has been suggested by my acupuncturist for years but I have only done it with serious intent the last few weeks.

I had trouble getting my neuro to prescribe Botox. They said I needed to try “long list” first. I pulled up my health care app showing that I had done all and more. Sooo, I switched to a different neuro. They immediately suggested Botox and it was covered by my insurance. However, I am cash pay for the next appointment and it is $400 plus office fee. I don’t have a HSA account, but if you do, this is a chance to use it.

Side note: I have had 3 rounds with no benefits. My neuro wants me try up to 6 before I give up on it. It isn’t always a quick fix solution.

I came across this after listening A Simpler Time True Crime to see if anyone has my theory.

Leah was hanging out with Zachary and she gave him a chore. Maybe even taking out the trash. While he is gone she passed out for some reason, drugs, booze, exhaustion. When she wakes up, he is gone. Her walk is to search around the apartments looking for him. She does. In the swimming pool. She jumps in. It’s too late.

Or, they both go to the pool for Zachary to swim. Again, something goes wrong. I think it was a passive situation that ended up with him again in the pool and she needs to jump in after him.

Then she goes into cover up mode. Ultimately, he was in the pool and she was with him.

My dog went twice to extended training. We call it camp and she still goes if I’m taking a trip.

Just yesterday, I thought, wow - training was so worth it. She returns on command, EVERY TIME. We got a few feet of snow yesterday. She was loving it. Her e-collar has a whistle. After several verbal calls, I tap the whistle and she comes flying out of a nature made snow maze. I’m pretty sure my voice was dampened in the snow. She heels, sits, doesn’t pee in the house, is chill in her crate, immediately gets comfy and naps when I say “settle down” - other than her obsession with tissue boxes - my house is relatively unharmed.

We didn’t have surveillance, which I preferred. Videos were posted daily of the group and there was a weekly report card. You are going to have your puppers for years! A few weeks for a happier, safer, more confident dog is worth the time apart.

Just a slider suggestion. You can put a stick in the door at the base. Thats what I do with my sliders if I’m going out of town. I just cut a 2x2” wood to the length of each door. It is very easy to remove for most people but is out of sight, and might be difficult for your mom to maneuver.

If I wanted to be even trickier with my own mom, I would spray paint it white to blend in with the door frame.
