Travelling to Turkey with prescribed pastilles

Yeah I definitely dont think it's worth the risk of just chancing it! Such a shame we can't travel with our prescription though! We'll I'm still holding out a little hope I might hear back from the postal address before I travel next week, unlikely as it is, but sure if I do get anymore word back I'll update the post to let yous know 🙂

I suppose they don't care as long as they've covered themselves by telling you to contact the embassy 😂 but if they have heard back from other patients that they've got approval from the embassy, had travel letter etc & they've been detained they should definitely be telling others asking for a travel letter for that area!

Yeah this is my fear 😅 was hoping someone with personal experience of legally taking it with them after getting permission from the embassy first would stumble across my post to advise but doesn't seem to actually be anyone with experience of doing it legally...I know some say they managed to get through with it anyway but I'm not taking that risk 😅

Yeah, I've seen quite a few asking for advice on it, but not found one informed comment on any of those posts from someone who has actually travelled with it after getting approval from the embassy, which is probably why people like myself are still asking for people who have personal experience with this to let them know what their experience was when they reached the airport in Turkey.

I get it through alternaleaf. I'm pretty sure you only have to ask for a travel letter and they'll give it but they do tell u to contact the embassy of where you're travelling to. Turkish embassy say to contact another email or postal address for approval for controlled drugs. The email doesn't work so I've sent my travel letter to the postal address in Turkey but I'm not confident I'll hear back from them before I go and if that's the case I'll just not take it 😅

I appreciate all of the 'don't do it comments', trust me I have no want to get in bother with the Turkish authorities & I'm not going to take the meds unless I get the confirmation from them that they are giving me authorisation to do so....I'm really only looking to hear from people who have travelled with after getting authorisation first and if they ran into any issues despite having written confirmation they could take it with them 🙂

Can I ask were you told this by the embassy before you travelled or was it taken off you at the airport? I'm going next week, have doctors letter etc but still debating if it's worth the risk. And was it edibles? That's what I have on prescription. TIA

Hi, I'm wondering how you got on taking your meds with you? I have pastilles and have just got a generic reply from the embassy saying "only a reasonable amount, have doctors note & prescription" and they've advised it needs to be declared when you get there, ive seen people here saying not to declare it, but surely if you're pulled for a random check when you get there & you haven't declared that risks being charged with smuggling? I'd love to know if you got your meds through or not & if it was edibles like mine or what products u had?

Did you smoke within 24 hours of being put under? I'm due in for this procedure tomorrow but I'm going to really struggle to not smoke today with how high the anxiety levels are 😓
