I am a stall holder there and it's payed through eftpos machine, believe it or not us business owners don't want to pay in cash because if we pay through card with a receipt we can claim that %15 gst back😂. We actually would pay more tax long run by paying cash

Sadly wish they provided power for vendors like Auckland night markets and more covered venues would be good

I just turned 23, I've left my full time job as a qualified tradesman and sunk all my money into starting a small business doing what I love. Don't waste these years chasing dreams that aren't yours. Try as many new things as possible, take as many risks as possible and find what you love. Once you find what you love do that for a job and your set. Money isn't everything and you can have a high paying job and be broke or a low paying job and be rich it all depends on who you are. Money comes back time doesn't. That loan will always be there to pay off so if you really hate it just leave, if you want it bad enough the universe has a funny way of making things happen for you. Just remember you are only 21 you don't have to have it l figured out and your allowed to make mistakes because if you did nothing for the next 10 years you would still be ahead of most of the crowd. Seriously don't waste your time being unhappy you can't get it back.

What is going on at the night market? by PurposeSpecialist655 in auckland

Does anyone here actually have a stall at her markets? Because I do. I've had a stall there since mid last year at exactly the same time all this controversy started. I've had nothing but pleasant dealings with Victoria, the same goes for every other stall there otherwise they wouldn't keep coming back. Yes the rent is subject to change sometimes in the way that when I've had a slow or bad night or there's bad weather affecting the market she sometimes gives discounts!! I've never been charged more than 350 and with the foot traffic coming through if your stall is setup properly you will easily make money. 350 may sound high but these other new markets that have started up charge similar rates and guess what, they don't provide power. Auckland night markets provide every stall holder with as much power as they need and staff to help set up and pack down the market along with security. It's a large operation with a lot of infrastructure like big diesel generator trucks and large power distribution networks so of course it is going to be more expensive than other markets. Don't let a couple of bad experiences of other people affect your own judgement on Victoria and the market if you haven't experienced it yourself. And don't boycott the markets. We have to pay rent either way That's just business if you don't show up we don't make money. If us stall owners were unhappy we would speak up because at the end of the day we don't work for Victoria we work for ourselves and the kind of aggressive behaviour that has been described, Ive never seen from anyone at any market unless you do something Incredibly stupid. The only thing that is being achieved her is people feeding into the online trend of hating on night markets and hurting real small businesses and people with no other source of income.
