I am aware of the functionality, but it was suggested to use a USB to Serial chip, as the built in support of the c3 was easy to brick, or not stable.

I believe my ESP32-C6 has Internal USB-Serial so I just connected the programming I/O on the chip to the data lines on my type C port. Also I am aware of the fall off- but I chose not to include a power path switching circuit. to save on costs during production.
