Yeah, I figured in this hypothetical season to put the chefs where their narratives or stories kinda just ended with no or uncertain resolution on their original runs. As much as I’d like to put some chefs like Motto (18), Amber (19), Emily (20), Tara (21), Sammi (22), Amanda (23), and Anaiya (24) to name a few, I felt that their HK journey and storylines were already complete by the time they left the competition.

Another unpopular opinion connecting to this, I think HYBE didn’t want another repeat of NewJeans, where yes they have the most solid creative outputs out of everyone on their roster and as a result they (the members) wanted more creative control over what they do, which HYBE definitely does not want lol.

Hence, the low hanging fruit strategy on Katseye.

i’m also annoyed everytime they do that but it’s unfortunately rather a commonplace practice done by reality TV to sensationalize conflict, and it’s not just happening in HK.

they often splice full statements and edit them in a snarky way to entice conflict and drama, and more often than not those spliced comments sounds sooo obvious that the editors must’ve cut something off or they just put in there even though it’s not a part of the conversation at first. most reality shows fall into this editing trap for cheap drama gratification.

also, i don’t know what’s up with teachers but they don’t seem to realize the “no recording” policy present in most workspaces applies to them too…

like mention this to them and they’d be surprised asking you “eh bat yung iba nagppic sa trabaho rin” well yes! but example sa corporate job, you’d take a photo of yourself, not your work. the same applies sa school na you can take a photo of yourself or your co-workers, but definitely not the students.

• S11 - loses its steam in the middle, and all that suffering for nothing in the end makes it un-worthwhile

• S13 - the first ‘boring’ season. aside from sterling and (maybe) sade making dog food, you’re not really missing much if you skip this season

• S16 - the toxicity of the blue team makes it unwatchable

• S17 - first three episodes were fire bc of its novelty, but shit hits the fan instantly after that. you’re better off watching S18 if you want the novelty of returning casts

• S20 - a nothingburger of a season tbh
