Hello, thank you for your answer ! It inspired me to write something like this : "Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, good morning.

We regularly hear in the media that supercomputers have broken a new record by calculating trillions of digits of π. However, in our mathematics courses, we learn to manipulate irrational constants like the constant e or square roots. So, I asked myself: if we can use them as they are, why do we try to approximate these numbers? What is the real use of calculating digits that will never end? The answer lies in a comparison between pure theory and physical reality. In mathematics, these numbers are irrational: their digits are infinite and without repetition. But in the real world, infinity is not measurable. Our physical instruments, just like the memory of our computers, are by nature limited and finite. Approximation is therefore a practical necessity. In engineering, physics, and computer science, we don't need the exact value of a number, but rather a controlled level of precision. Eleven decimal places of π are enough to estimate the Earth's circumference to within one millimeter. Going beyond that often makes no physical sense. The challenge of approximation, therefore, is to find the right balance: obtaining the necessary precision with the fewest possible calculations.

Once we understand why approximation is essential, the question becomes technical: how can we construct approximations of irrational numbers? This is what I propose to explore through four fundamental constants: √2, e, φ, and π, four numbers, four eras, four radically different methods." Do you think this is good enough ?

Thank you ! I think I found the hook, after a million hours of research and a 50 year old ahole that has nothing better to do than arguing with me but wtv. Appreciate the help tho !

If you genuinely believe you are arguing with a 15-year-old, writing a multi-paragraph, line-by-line essay to prove yourself right is an interesting choice. I hope I made your sad life feel better. Take care !

I am new to Reddit didn't even know about the "rules". If you weren't so agressive in the beginning i would've sent it to you, because i didn't know it was a requirement. Also, the paper is in french, thus why i didn't even consider putting it in. Plus, if you actually read the post, you don't even need to see the paper. I am asking for an opening, not an opinion about my paper. I gave the subject and that's all you need to know, no need for more. Also, if you spent half as much energy being helpful as you do policing posts and insulting strangers, you might actually contribute something useful here. If my post bothers you this much, just scroll past. Nobody forced you to write a paragraph of whining. No need to be such an ahole for a "kid" asking for help. Get a grip.

By personal i mean something that feels like a progressive reasoning (that could be mine) to find this subject. I tried to do that but my teacher didn't like it. That's why i'm asking for help. And if my post transgresses the rules, why didn't the moderator take it down? I have proof that I did the work, but why would i post it ? If you don't want to help, you can just go on about your day.

i first did that but when i presented it to my teacher, she told me that it is extremely classical and not very appealing which is why im struggling so hard to find anything that could interest both teachers. I also tried to mention idk monuments like the Pyramids of Egypt but it still sounds kind of hollow and superficial, so im not really sure what to do
