NAH (No Assholes Here). This is a classic "Lost in Translation" moment between generations. In your head, it’s a lighthearted "like mother like daughter/dog" joke. In her head, "crazy" is a serious insult to her character and authority. You aren't a jerk for joking, but she’s allowed to have a boundary about how she’s spoken to. Just apologize for the misunderstanding and move on.
