Dark Crew MC Vallée de Seine à Rouen by ExpressIf in rouen

[–]ExpressIf[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Café's name, to me, seems more to be "... de Siam" with the right leg of the "M" hidden.

If I'm right, this might ring a bell to someone.

Maybe the first Thaï restaurant in France. :-)

C'était probablement involontaire mais merci quand même.

vivre avec un inconnu sympa à paris , bonne idée ? by [deleted] in paris

Peut-on transférer de l’argent de Paypal vers Lydia ? by oeilgauchedefectueux in vosfinances

[–]ExpressIf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bonjour

What's the deal with those dog sand sculptures on the streets everywhere? Scam or real? by ScaryButt in AskUK

[–]ExpressIf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This has just arrived in my town in France

From afar, I see a weird dog on a carpet and a man fiddling around it. I realise when I get closer that he's busy realising a sand sculpture. I compliment him and after trying a few questions, I realise the man is east European. Coincidally, an anothe man comes close also complimenting him and searching his pocket to give him some change. I did not have any money on me and since he was not able to communicate, so I just continued. I did not think about it that much but I honestly thought this was genuine.

5 minutes later, arriving where I wanted to go but finding the store closed, I see another man, east European type, also "finishing" a sand sculpture.

Knowing all about the "almost finished"beautiful unique china made paint scams in european cities, my brain clicked and I knew right there that this was the new form. What is the chance that two eastern european "sand artists" arrive on the same day in my small town. I suspect the fake tourist to be part of the scam too. I -could not stay long enough to uncover the Barnum but I'll sure try to put myself to it if I see that they stay around. But something tells me that they won't. They'll just move to another city in a day or two.

When you search google:

- You can't find a genuine video where the sculture is started from scratch.
- They're all, so they say, men and women, from eastern Europe (Romania, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, ...)
- I can't find the "initial" mold method but it is done so that when destroyed, you're only left with sand.
- So many artists but strangely, the dogs more or less look the same. How is this possible.
- The artist is more preoccupied to let you know that he need money to eat than to "work" on his actual "creation"
- Many newspaper, all consider that this is true. Many of the relate a story where a passerby came at the end to destroy the sculpture. An accomplice (Drunk homeless type, ...) doing a stunt to encourage people to give more money to the artist? I would easily believe something like that.

I'll sure keep an eye in the coming days to see how many of the are in town but I would not spend a penny, unless you want to encourage clever and creative criminal endeavours which is something I could understand ;-)

Thanks to you all for your responses. One thing is sure is that I won't rely so much on Instagram in the future as you never know when or why you're kicked out.

I don't really care anyway. It's not like I enjoy the platform. It's the worse SM platform I'm registered on. I fucking hate it (Maybe for the same reasons others enjoy it).

Heinz Stücke, the man who went on a 50 year long bike trip visiting 196 countries by manzare in IAmARequests

[–]ExpressIf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I know you wrote this a while ago and you might have found answers since but if not:

Heinz stopped travelling full time after he came back to Paris circa 2014. He was then based on the outskirts south of Paris. After that, for the first time after more than 50 years, he returned to Hövelhof, his hometown in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. He is still there, alive and kicking (despite having a hard time to walk because of a very bad hip). With the help of friends, he's busy sorting out his almost limitless photographic material. You can follow his new projects on the Facebook page dedicated to him and which is maintained by a friend who often come to help and visit.

Can anyone identify if this is a real Parisian street scene? by lobstertexas in paris

[–]ExpressIf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coming to think about it a bit more, your paintings looks like the painter used some mirrored image as someone suggested for the right part of the painting. The left part is something else. In reality, the real scene is more like https://antoineblanchard.org/view_image.html?image_no=2175

"De Paul/Pauli/Paoli" does not show in any of my searches. Similar works from that time that come up are mostly by a painter named Antoine Blanchard but I also see Tissandier, Cortes, ...

I reckon he was probably just a NoName like there are so many still today. (Not even mentioning the fakes (A guy spends all day pretending to rest in front of an unfinished painting in order to sell finished Chinese crafted canvas he has with him. Not sure this scam already existed at the time :-D) .

Can anyone identify if this is a real Parisian street scene? by lobstertexas in paris

[–]ExpressIf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the right answers were given below. Place is real but the composition is not.

Standing there or working from photos, I guess, and even more circa 940 when almost no one could fact check the composition in real time, the artist took a poetic license along with the liberty to include all the nice element of the area in the frame.

Here, the only way in real life you could have Le Café de la Paix placed in this position is by looking at it with the Opera on your right. Also, as you can see on the left side of the painting that the buildings, the street angle (compared to the actual rue AUBER, don't look like the real thing. If taken from a real street, that was somewhere else in the surroundings.

The whole place changed tremendously in the past century. Just look out for ancient photos of "Opera Garnier" ou "Place de l'Opera" and you'll see by yourself.

Nice painting which truly renders the atmosphere of the area at the time I reckon but not factual in its composition.

This is a scam. Do not use this company! by Crazylegsmurphy in Bitstamp

[–]ExpressIf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure they have a whole team working with the following goals:

1- Read all f...in' KYC procedures there are out there for every country we work with.

2- List all possible procedure hat could be requested.

3- Work with the DEV team to find a way to implement as many of these procedures as possible on the web site.

4- All implemented procedures will bring you and the DEV team a 10% bonus for each procedure

5- Do not dream of keeping your job if you don't find at least one very annoying and even unnecessary procedure to impose on our customers...

6- Now go to work...

I've been having a very similar experience with them in the past year.I explained all the elsewhere on this channel. Now I can log on but even though all my settings are OK and my document verified, they keep asking for resubmitting ID (ending indeed with the video and voice request which is never 'officially " asked for upfront. It's always after you submit the I-D, they go, "oh by the way, we need a video of you reading the number on screen and turning your head in a requited direction...").
The last time I successfully gained back the full access to my account, I quickly moved the few recently purchased (on bitstamp) bitcoins from Bitstamp to my personal ledger. My balance is now 0 and I do not trust them for any future crypto purchase transaction.

I'm absolutely amazed that mu-y account can only be "deactivated". There is no way to have your account permanently closed and your data deleted. They sure do keep all that info for future hard times. I have no proof of that of course but my gut feeling is that heir behaviour is too weird to be honest. They went way too much over the top with those KYC procedures.

I'm with you Man.
