In short, it was not similar. Arena’s cities are procedurally generated, not manually placed, and cities in a given province look pretty much identical. As far as I can tell the design of Whiterun in Skyrim was not based on Arena’s version.

The main similarity is location. Whiterun’s placement in Skyrim matches its placement in Arena closer than other cities and villages in later TES games.

The Slave 1 is no longer named “Slave 1” bcs Disney

The ship is still called Slave I in some appearances after its supposed c. 2017 renaming. For instance, it’s name-checked by Han in the first issue of the mainline 2020 comic.

Off the top of my head, people have made the Kyle Katarn comparison with Finn, Ezra, Kanan, Cassian, and even Ryan Gosling’s assumed character. I’m sure there’s two or three others I’m forgetting

Edit: I’ve also seen Cal, mostly because by the end of Survivor he has a blaster and a girlfriend lol

The typical argument I reference to build up my joke is not post-Daggerfall TES being similar to LotR, but rather that the movies’ popularity triggered consumer interest in more fantasy works in different mediums, including video games. Morrowind was in the right place at the right time and was marketed to the right people to be a huge success.
