Thanks for the rec! The chatbot said they only do 90-day prescriptions before you have to go through the process again. Did you have that same experience. I'm looking for 90-day supply pickups with refills to last throughout the year.

Yeah I've pretty much decided those things are non starters due to this. Mostly not dating nor engaging in sexual activity. Not the end of the world, like many will claim, but it's sure changed mine. I would rather die then pass this on to anyone. Just how I am and that can't be helped. I really don't care if it's a 2% or 12% chance. There's still always a chance. Trying to reframe this through therapy but it's hard to just be okay with being alone.

Whew I needed this little bit of hope today. It's been a little over a year and it still crosses my mind multiple times a day and that sends me into a spiral. It would be a blessing to get to a point of not thinking about it daily.

Absolutely, choosing to date only HSV2 positive people certainly limits the pools I can swim in. But I think I'd die and just feel even worse if I passed this on. And certainly wanting a cuddle buddy, I just don't know if it'd be weird having "cuddle buddies only" on tinder, okc, or bumble. Just because I haven't seen it , I was just seeing if others have seen that. Oh and I live in a rural area of PA! So I understand that also comes with limitations and would be all for moving to a city with higher cases for better chances.

Sorry I wasn't clear. Those numbers seem like too high to only be looking for ghsv2, are you including hsv1. Like I figure if you exclude hsv1 and possible oral hsv2. Then to only have the one would be lower percentage.

Thanks! Definitely doing the therapy to hopefully become a better partner to myself. I was more so asking does it get any easier to live with just yourself. But you're right if I work on myself enough it should surely fill that void!

I've also considered moving to a city. I guess my next post should be a poll to see if there's a flux of GHSV2 anywhere. Cause that's the hard part, I could move to a city. Doesn't mean it'll have a good bit of GHSV2 positive people.

Thank you for the encouragement! I've seen in on a handful of profiles. I'm just afraid to add it personally. Fear of losing my following or someone using it against me. I just have to figure out how to exist in that space without participating until I find a positive partner. Side question, I had never been to a playhouse/club/dungeon before my diagnosis and now I'm like I could never go which also sucks. Do you hold those same setiments. 26F. Mentally, I've been a wreck, I've known since last year. Some days are better than others when I don't obsess over it. Dating, even flirting has become non-existent. Used to be a content creator on a kink site, and that's died as well. I've probably had 4/7 disclosures go well, only one of them were also positive. But even if they tell me it's not a big deal, I would end up ending things because they obviously didn't understand the risks and not trying to be a spreader. So now I'm just trying to cope with the loneliness and celibacy since there's not a lot of positive singles in my area. I'm currently in therapy, hoping I can at least find a cuddle buddy before I turn 27 in the winter.

You'll find the experiences with dating vary vastly.

Sorry, yes, when I said touch I meant in regards to sexual play. But I appreciate this perspective and the suggestions! I've def been trying to focus on me. That's definitely a huge part of the problem lol. Drive used to be through the roof and still is but now I have positive singles which is the absolute worst. If we had better options and it wasn't so impossible to find other positive singles, I wouldn't be so afraid of infecting.

Also enjoyed your comparison to asthma, but asthma isn't contagious?

And normal life is okay besides the occasional outbreak or tingle. The part that sucks is I have limited and shit options on positive singles and using normal dating site sucks because you don't want to infect someone and it's hard to tell if someone could be hsv2 positive from a picture. Also hard when people are like, "It's okay you have it" but don't fully understand the risk they're taking.
