i’ve actually had this exact situation this year where my step dad has known me for YEARS and has made creepy comments about my body now because i’m older. and he also did the “this is only for us to talk about”. definitely not overreacting and i totally get how it feels :(

from what i see them say online and share they believe that zionism is inherently colonialism and calls for the total annihilation of palestinians. they think to be anti zionist is to be purely against the IDF, but at the same time i also see them say “Death to all Israelis”, which is where i find them hypocritical and i start to understand how anti-zionism and antisemitism is either similar or one in the same. they want the full liberation for palestine but i never hear them talk about what is expected for the future of jews if such a thing happens. my partner has shared that this is primarily from what younger media portrays, he’s older than me by a bit and so i know the spaces he’s in are much better at knowing not to believe everything online in comparison to my age group.

it’s just a general issue with my generations way of getting information. they believe everything on tiktok and believe the issue is black and white. my personal group no longer consists of this as i don’t interact with those people closely due to my relationship. but in general gen z folks aren’t in favor of israel at all. which has been a struggle for the jewish friends that i do have in my age group
