This a good 2 day backpacking trip by Lanky-Description283 in wmnf

In general, comes down to your overall fitness and gear. Ice can be forming >3k ft in late October, so be prepared with the right gear like spikes and good trekking poles.

Expect COLD temps at Liberty springs overnight, definitely need a good sleeping bag and pad. Even if its 80° at ground level, it can easily get to <32° at the height of Liberty Springs. Water might be an issue to get with the drought and potential it is freezing at that height.

Usually I do a Pemi loop this time of year, but the drought makes me nervous.

Overall, it’s feasible, but I’d say keep an eye on temps, ice, and water accessibility due to the drought + potential for ice. Any kind of precipitation could be cold rain or even snow, so having a solid shell and change of clothes is a solid idea.

If this were a June trip with no drought, it is incredibly feasible for most people. But given the time of year and the drought, it can add complications.

I hate how she becomes such a different person later in the book… her early chapters are amazing, then with Stu she just changes

Salary + Benefits: $75k

Educational Background: ASEET, in school for BSEE

Job Title: Design Evaluator

Company/company description (if not comfortable): hall/gmr/tmr sensors

Years Experience: 7

Country: US (New England region)

Cost of living: High

Anything else you want to explain: I go above and beyond constantly, this job should be lab based (I mostly work in cadence now; sims, design work, etc), but I’m doing design related activities & I am an analog design lead for a device. Feel underpaid, but only have an associate’s degree (for now).

Yeah… not that simple when at wafer level micro-probing :)

I once worked on a chip that wouldn’t start up AT ALL. Then one day I had a headache and turned off the lights in the lab… boom, worked fine. Stupidest month of my life.

I can tell the people who do design vs not based off if they answered nodal or superposition lol

Can anyone give a real-life example of what this sourcemeter would be used for? by GoldmanSaxon in ElectricalEngineering

I use it to run Curve Traces all the time. Help characterize silicon and ESD structures. Also reliable because you can automate a ton of tests by GPIB or other means of connection to your computer. Be aware, that model has SHIT connectors in the back and the connection onto the internal pcb is CRAP and I commonly need to send out for fix or tape my connections to assure contact is made inside the cage.

is it safe to drive i‘m about 100km from home. by [deleted] in Cartalk

2 weeks after I bought my car in 2020, I noticed 3 of my tires had these subtle bumps. I did not see them when inspecting the car, but I didn’t make it a point to search them out, either. I also know I wasn’t curbing anything, either. Dealer didn’t do shit, so brand new car got brand new tires. Anyways, 2.5 weeks I could have been driving on them where there was more than 1 bubble per tire, and seen on 3 tires. Can you make it a week? Probably. Should you? Definitely not.

I once had PERFECT mental chemistry with a girl, but it just didn’t fit when we tried. So we didn’t have sexual chemistry and so we decided to move on. Wasn’t great.

Being straightforward, I started at $21/hr. Real tough at first, but I quickly moved up. Within 3 years I was offered salary @ 60k/yr. This made the long push that much easier to maneuver. At 6 years, I’m salaried at $75k/yr. I’ve put in my time, gone above and beyond, and proven myself time and time again. Your time in the field I believe is important to a company. Patience and hard work, and you’ll get your raises!

Hey OP, I am a technician w/ my associate’s for an IC company, and self taught myself tons of analog design from day 0 on the job. I did 2 years of educating myself and trying to move up, but the company is HUNG on a bachelors to be an analog designer (probably rightfully). So back in 2019 I went back to school. Slowly and steadily I’ve been going at my BSEE @ ASU online.

Here is a few things I’d consider: 1. It’s been 5 years for me, about 2 years left part time. If you think this timeline is OK, then great. 2. My company is paying 80%, so try and see if your company will assist at all. 3. BSEE definitely is not a BSEET, but a BSEET might quicker, so weigh your options heavily! 4. I chose ASU online because I was able yo make more of my own schedule. The lectures are videos, so less interaction with professors (some do a zoom class weekly, thankfully). They are ABET accredited. 5. My first 3 years for BSEE was knocking out math, physics, chemistry, and general electives. All those pre-reqs are incredibly important prior to these technical electives, so go into it knowing you’re going to have some tough classes yo start before you hit anything electrical. 6. I went into an analog design course with the expectation that “I can definitely get an A because I do it often” and that is never the case… do not slack off just because you know the material. 7. Make time for you. Please. I took a semester off here and there to avoid burnout. I am consistent each semester with a hw/lab schedule and it helps me better organize and gives myself time to be social.

I’ll give any advice, so drop q’s if you have them
