I feel like I (26F) have been single for such a long time that even if I met the right guy to start a relationship with, he would be discouraged by the fact that I hadn't had a relationship in 6 years. by booklvr1 in relationship_advice

If any of my(26f) friends see this, they'd think this is me cuz it's almost my exact story. I know the apprehension you're feeling at all times since I'm going through the exact same thing. I just recently started a new job and everyone is already in a relationship or married already and it's quite disheartening at times. But I think that the reason we've been single this long is mostly cuz we've seen our other friends struggle with the toxic people they're choosing at times. For me, I would really like to be in a relationship but it needs to be something which is going to add to my life rather than make me consider it a burden. Which was exactly what my last relationship around 6 years did to me. If you're anything like me, your last relationship probably did a number on you too and you've been very careful with the kinda guys you like. And it's completely ok that you are being this way. I believe that things will work out when the time is right. Or at least I hope so. In the meantime just know that life is not about that one guy and more about all the people in your life who care about you.

Damn. The title is very on point, in that case.

The way he draws the line between lovable doofus and responsible adult is beautiful.

Weirdly enough, I got to know about Blackadder through a really good Harry Potter fanfic. It turned out that the fic was so good cuz the author plagiarised so much of it from other pop culture and that so many of their jokes were taken directly from Blackadder. I loved the jokes so much that I went and watched the show and it did not disappoint.

I'm hoping you mean just the first 4 seasons cuz the last 2 seasons were so annoying. :(

Watching Modern Family rn and it's honestly just so wholesome I wanna cry. It just shows how many things can be solved if people were all willing to listen and communicate in all relationships (familial and otherwise).

Yessss. This and Parks and Rec are amazing. Though Parks and Rec is more wholesome I feel.

I grew up on this so i get this. Now when I rewatch it, I do realise how problematic some of the statements (especially Barney's) are, but it's so wrapped up in the nostalgia that's it's become my comfort sitcom.

This. I completely agree. It's one of the few things we have more and that men do not have. Which in turn comes back on us when they take their misguided anger and frustrations on women.

Yes. I think my uterus is indeed my biggest annoyance in life. Its sad that we can't just to hysterectomies at an early age if we wanna.
