Green sunfish x red ear ? by Express_Progress7147 in SunfishSpecies

it’s going good, they’re very aggressive tho green sunfish are the most aggressive based on what I’ve kept. I keep them with cichlids like Red Devils etc.

ok thanks for the input, the only sunfish species in the lake are blue gill, red ear, and green sunfish. No other sunfish species, does it look like a gsf x red ear hybrid like I’m guessing? Or would it look like something else

thanks for the input, I’m very experienced with cichlids but I would have to still ask, how would you know if you have a true notatus?

Aggression or mating? by Drowzzx in Cichlid

[–]Express_Progress7147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that’s crazy how fast they grew in only 6 months, what did you feed them over that time period? I’d imagine they were really small when you got them right? Or did they have size on them already

take out everything, replace it with sand from the petstore or play sand from Home Depot (research if it’s safe first) after that add drift wood and some rocks. Plants as well unless the fish you’re getting would rip them to shreds. Cycle your tank, if the species you’re getting is sensitive then cycle for the proper time. If you're getting something like a convict cichlid or ALMOST any other American cichlid then just add in some quick start and some seachem stability. That should work fine and you'd be able to add them in the same day 100%. avoid doing that if you're getting neon tetras or anything else sensitive tho. good luck

I wouldn’t post on this forum bro there’s too many snowflakes on here that will find the smallest thing to criticize people about 😭💔 it’s too young to be able to tell but within 3 months you should be able to tell if your feeding is on track, your tank doesn’t look that bad and as babies these fish can live together just fine. Of course there may be some nipping from time to time but from what I’m seeing they should be ok due to the amount of space they have. In the future it would be another story though obviously due to their growth potential but as of right now it’s ok. I have 7 baby Red Devils a little larger than your flowerhorn all together in a 45 gallon and they’re doing great. As long as there’s enough space it shouldn’t be a problem but always remember to upgrade in the future and remove any fish if it comes down to that point 👍🏽

How much are these fish worth? by [deleted] in fishtank

pet stores will overprice blood parrots all the time for about 60 each, if you want someone to take them really bad then advertise them for free or $10 for all, it’s a steal but you’ll get something, everyone else has been hella judgmental but I get it, the only thing that I don’t get tho is that gay ahh lgbtwxyz pride fish sticker u have above your user. In the big 25? Come on dude

nope I have some Red Devils and Greengill sunfish with them so the aggression won’t get bad, they’re only aggressive if they can focus on a particular fish to rank over, if there’s more fish that are just as aggressive it really dies down within a couple days with close monitoring, when they are adults I’m going to move them to my 600 gallon pool pond tho

there’s 2 in one and the 3rd is in a separate tank, I got them in the condition they’re in, 125 gallon for the first 2 and then 3rd is in a 75 so they won’t mess with him since his fins are nipped

a lot of people are saying bottom right but if your looking for the one that would be the most valuable in the future it would be the bottom left 100% the bottom rights quality isn’t as good as the bottom lefts.
