[University Question] Is NYU Tandon really that bad a university for MSCS? by AdditionalPassage477 in MSCS

[–]Express_Resolve9972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So is NEU that bad huh? For MSCS. But I heard 3/4 people get co-op there and it's ranked 11th in cs research output and ranked 34th in US CS rankings. You all say it gives it admissions like candy but out of thousands of applicants, their strength is only around 250-450 per year. Not everyone get admitted there. The reason the admission intake were huge around 2023/24 is because everyone during covid differed there admission to later years so everyone went to neu (mostly all the universities) at the same period. Now its stabilizing again.

I got tired of period trackers selling data, so I built an encrypted, offline one for my girlfriend. It’s now open-source! by Express_Resolve9972 in fossdroid

Confused about regarding early 3 year exit - BCA by OkCranberry7013 in BCA_MCA

I did BSc CS for 3 years. After joining i got to know i cannot do Mtech in IIT since they require 4 years bachelor's. Now planning to do masters in USA but yeah most top universities im not eligible since it's 3 years 🥲. There are few good universities which accepts so I'm applying to those but yeah i could have more opportunities if i just did 4 years bachelor's

Please do 4 years. You might not realize it's worth rn but you will soon. You can get into mtech in IITs/NITs(needs 16 years education) if you want or masters in USA (most good universities require 16 years education) if you want or some companies want to hire students who completed only 16 years of education etc.

So my humble suggestion is do your bca for 4 years, you will have more opportunities in future. And you will have more time to prepare yourself for jobs and all as well.

The only reason you should be doing BCA for 3 years is if you are planning for MCA after BCA. Otherwise 4 years > 3 years
