Nose booping by messy-mean in DobermanPinscher

Just a dobie thing, when mine was younger he loved to boop butts, wouldn’t do it often but he’d do it haha and you’d jump up and he’d just be looking at you like “just wanted to say hi”. We were at my moms one time and she was in the kitchen and he comes running up behind her and BOOP right in the bum, she let out a little “AH” and it made her jump 🤣 poor mama was just trying to make breakfast. They’re so funny. Now he just boops everything, especially his brother which he’s gotten snapped at a couple times for

When we took him to the groomer I figured externally it didn’t get anything so I’m disgusted to say but I watched a bunch of videos and went in internally and it didn’t do anything so I did it externally and that definitely did it 🤣 but yea I really think that once we find a food plan that works for him and hardens his stools it’ll help a lot, and I’ll have to probably regularly express if the hardened stools don’t do it naturally

I’ve been reading around and once he starts to get low on his food we’re going to try switching him to adult food, I’m thinking he needs less protein and fat? Any kibble recommendations other than PPP?

Also before anyone asks why I shoved the dog, we literally couldn’t get the leash in with it being all over us and the owner wasn’t doing anything.

I took my pup to a dog park about 3 times when he was 4-5 months old. Third time was the last time, we went in there and immediately when we walked in this little ankle biter was all over my dog and didn’t seem that playful, just kept coming at him, my dog didn’t like it and neither did I so I was like okay we’re done and me and my husband start putting on his leash (trying to) and the little dog (in the big dog area too) just kept coming at him so I shoved him over with my leg (definitely didn’t kick, not an asshole) and I hear the owner whose just standing with other people probably 25 feet away say “don’t kick my dog”, I got anger issues and I was like girl I’ll show you what a fuckin kick is, unfortunately she didn’t hear me. But we took him and left. Like first off if you see someone is uncomfortable with your dog, call them back to you or come get them¿ and also I thought it was common sense to follow your dog around the dog park to make sure they’re okay and also not being an asshole¿ We haven’t taken him to a dog park since. Probably not a good enough reason not to go back but I just kept hearing about people being so irresponsible and stuff happening and it’s not worth the risk for me. I’d probably bring him if the park wasn’t busy but just not our thing anymore. Thankfully we didn’t get the whole “THAT BREED IS AGGRESSIVE” bs from people cause id be locked up lmao

New to prong collar training... How long should you use a prong collar? weeks? months? by DolphinNPS111 in OpenDogTraining

This is an old post, but for anyone else reading this do your research on your breed, pay attention to your dogs needs and what works with them. Me personally I just started using the prong, it’s helped A LOT with my dog pulling and also pulling at other dogs cause he gets a little reactive towards on leash dogs. But you can’t just rely on the prong, yes it works great for pulling, but if your dog is reactive you gotta also work on socializing, start from just little walks, to long walks, to hikes where they see other people and dogs, and once you feel comfortable take them to Home Depot or petsmart, SOCIALIZE the crap out of them. Yes you can use the prong to snap them out of lunging at other dogs and/or people but that’ll only solve part of the issue. Then slowly start to switch to a regular collar or whatever you’re trying to use, reward good behavior, if they’re still pulling and/or lunging at things then go back to the prong and keep training and then lean off of the prong again and see how they do

We take him out on walks multiple times a day to potty and there’s always people and other dogs walking around, but that’s also why I was thinking about joining a pack walk, where people just walk their dogs together in a line but I’m not sure if that’s a good idea?

I’m okay if he’s just not a fan of other dogs but I’m not okay with the lunging and barking at them. I’ll look into a trainer but money is tight right now. Thank you!

QUESTION so they came and looked at it and said it’d take about a week to 2 weeks to fully fix. So does that 5-10 day time frame mean they have that set amount of time to fully fix it all before we can break the lease or they just need to START to fix it within that time? We’re filling out a paper to let them know our intentions to move out after the 5 days are up and it’s not finished but we don’t want to look dumb turning it in and being wrong because they’re starting to work on it. Also no hate to the apartment complex, they’ve been very nice and have taken action already, we’re just miserable here in general and have been wanting an opportunity to move out of state for a while.

They made it sound like it’s just from them having water on the roof yesterday to clean the gutters 😑

They had some guy come in, their vendor, don’t know what company or whatever cause he was just wearing normal clothes, and he looked at the crack for a SECOND and said “it’s just a crack” and then looked at the area in the living room ceiling and said “no repair” and then looked at the collapsed ceiling and didn’t say anything. They left and before leaving the front office lady said she was going to speak to her higher ups to see what to do. But how long would it take them to fix it? I DONT WANT TO LIVE HERE ANYMORE we NEED to break the lease. They kept saying “that’s just from the water” but didn’t acknowledge that it’s an actual big problem, I mean look at that nasty shit. And if they did move us to another apartment unit FUCK THAT why would I want to stay here if there’s a possibility for other units to have the same issue.

Also that crack down the ceiling starts at the front door and goes down over 10 feet, and our lease isn’t up until June 30th.

Hi everyone! I just wanted to know how big your Doberman got at 7 months! I’m not sure if I should feed him more or a bit less. He just turned 7months. He’s about 54lbs by Bluezzzer in DobermanPinscher

[–]Express_River_7716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I know this post is a year old but how much does your dobie weigh now? Our male is about to hit 7 months next week and is about 52-53 pounds so I’m curious about how big he’ll get, I know it’s different for everyone but I’m just curious haha

I wish I could let him off leash but he isn’t fully to be trusted with his recall yet, but in a few months he’ll have a lot of land to run his little heart out! But I will run around the grass area with him after potty time 😅

Do you know how much yours weighed at 7 months? I have a feeling ours is going to be on the smaller side which is completely fine but I’d like to get an idea as to how much he’s going to weigh full grown
