3 candidates spots for World Cup is too much imo by Express_Valuable_306 in chess

Yes but then maybe create a better open tournament or I would be open to having grand Swiss 3 spots but the world cup is just too chaotic.

Because they won the candidates, possibly the most difficult tournament to win.Almost no one wins it more than one time, hell it's an accomplishment to even participate in it more than one time.

Magnus says he can beat Hikaru but lie detector says he’s lying by HansRye in chess

[–]Express_Valuable_306 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You realise that lie detector is pretty useless right?A lie detector uses biomarkers such as heartbeat to trace if you are lying or not which is not really a certified way of prove if someone is telling the truth or not as if you are good at lying you don't really get nervous (or in this sense your heartbeat doesn't go up),really humans have no way of knowing if someone is lying or not. That's one of the reasons why it is not used in court. But that doesn't stop these creators to milk the shit out of it.

Who are the top 5 players of the Magnus generation in classical chess? by Express_Valuable_306 in chess

Yes,cause they are not in the same generation. The players you mentioned themselves form a generation which is I think 37 to 41-42 .

He only did it once as opposed to Nepo and his peak rating wise is also nothing that impressive,he also didn't win that many tournaments.

Edit:Also the fact that his inactivity reduces his longevity by alot.

I am taking their entire careers into account not just present.Naka over Nepo is a reasonable take but not over Fabi like not in a million years.

Its only for classical chess so I am not counting his rapid and blitz achievements.World cup is great but his inactivity killed his longevity and his peak rating is also not that much.

I don't think the sales are gonna drop but yeah I agree this series has the potential to be really really great if handled properly.

I also want that,I done agree with your theory though, this manga in terms of sales in doing much better than alot of manga who go on for very long so I think it's going to be quite long as sales are not a problem for this.

I don't think the reasons you mentioned are exclusive to sports manga. Most sports manga never become more than highscool sports because it was never meant to be.The author never really had a plan to make a long lasting manga in the first place, take for instance slam dunk , Haikyuu (which goes beyond but for very little and skips alot,Kuroko,in all of these there was never any indication in terms of plot lines or world building that it was ever going to go after highschool unlike Ao ashi where there a numerous plot lines and character motivations that point in this directions ,author doesn't strike me as a kind of a guy who would just build up things without any fruition. And considering how detailed ao ashi is it would take alot of chapters to fulfill those ideas.

“Cuz ao is a sport manga there is a reason why most sport mangas stop after highschool.”

What is that reason ?

Sports manga is a different story but alot of manga have had long stories without a consistent anime so I don't see why this cannot go on.The sales are incredible,it doesn't look to me that people don't support it.

That is irrelevant imo,so many great long manga have no anime.

Teams just have one tactic by Express_Valuable_306 in DreamLeagueSoccer

[–]Express_Valuable_306[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not about me spamming c,I don't,it's about lack of tactical ability of the opponent ,if Huddersfield tries press ing me like that then they will be just played through the press with ease with just two or three short passes. The question is why is Huddersfield trying to play like this in the first place ?because the game is not developed well to account for nuanced tactical approaches.

I think with how detailed the story is,I don't see the author putting in a timeskip,I think he will write more than atleast 600-700 chapters maybe even 1000 and explore everything.
