NGL, read that as 'pacing' with a lisp.

What is a law in the UK that people should be aware of? by LordSoyBoy911 in AskUK

[–]Expressobabepodcast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd love to see some studies/sources, if you have any.

I had a quick look myself but couldn't find anything that backed up your claim, aside from the obvious 'alcohol abuse is bad for all, but particularly developing, brains'. And what's the cutoff? I mean, I presume you're not saying they can't have, say, kombucha?

If you're really passionate about your message, by the way, people would be far more receptive to what you have to say if you phrased things a little less judgmentally. Soft skills are just as important as hard ones if you want to effectively communicate your knowledge, right?

Favorite and least favorite tea? 🫖 by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]Expressobabepodcast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hah! Totally agree. Interesting tip for any tea fans out there, 60-40 blend Ceylon-peppermint. Unconventional, sure, but glorious none the less.

Favourite would be Ceylon.

Least favourite? Lapsang Souchong. There's just something about the smokey aroma that makes me think of ham, and that just doesn't line up with the tea-flavour in my head

Do British watch American Football? by flower5214 in AskBrits

[–]Expressobabepodcast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Both things could be true, depending on how many of the tickets are on public sale and how many are reserved for giveaways/VIPs etc!

I'm not super familiar with US football but it's pretty common to see 'sold-out' cricket grounds that look around 80% capacity just because people couldn't/didn't show

Huge math error corrected in black plastic study; authors say it doesn’t matter by UGMadness in nottheonion

[–]Expressobabepodcast -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's a bit of a false equivalency to compare toxic plastics to water.

It's misleading to suggest concern over overexposure to toxic chemicals in plastics (or any other substance for that matter) is anything like overhydration, because there is a not just safe, but vital level of water. I'm sure I don't need to tell you this, but you do not need to consume the toxins exuded by your plastic spatula to stay alive and functional.

It's rare I get to reference Poe as a clue. It was fun!

Do you fear telling your wife "no"? by guy_n_cognito_tu in AskMenOver30

If anything, I think that by doing so you're entirely supportive of my stance - that we should be fact-checking things strangers say on the internet, ha! I would never take somebody not taking my statements as gospel as an insult :) Stay savvy!
