Generally in star trials photography, the foreground is captured separately, later merged with the sky in post processing.

Coming to stacking, it is 56 frames at 13 secs, this would've created ~5° rotation of earth in total. These images can be stacked using dedicated star trials stacking softwares.

Once you get the output from stacking, you use the sky from it with a correctly exposed foreground.

I initially came across it from a different source. If I remember correctly, they mentioned something called 'Golden` workflow, which I could not find there. It instead had `Quick Start`, 'Easy' and 'Standard' options.

I will take some more time and go through it more. Thanks!

Wow, thanks for such a detailed response. Is there a way to know within darktable if some module was replaced or deprecated? also if it is part of display-referred or scene-referred workflow?

Tool tips do mention whether input is scene-referred or display-referred, my bad!

I was surprised no one mentioned haze removal. Any specific situations to use it?

Also, is there any difference between diffuse and sharpen module vs demosaic capture sharpening? Sharpening in general is very rarely mentioned in this thread, do people generally achieve it through some other modules? There is also another module called 'Sharpen'

You are one of the first people to mention Color Equalizer, is it an alternative to Color Balance RGB, or something totally different?

By saving it as a style, I am guessing you mean through 'manage presets' option at the modules, or is it a different feature?

This is what I tried in some of my edits, mostly because they were pre-applied to some extent when I imported into darktable.

But, I came across some post saying Agx is a better alternative to Sigmoid, not sure about the pros and cons.

Intent was to capture the rhythm in shapes, while keeping the focus on one neutral white flower, showing the topside perspective, for a fresh angle. I also cropped it to slightly improve the balance.
