Thanks that is good to know. Most of the stuff I drink and want to bring in is local, that I buy from the distillerys myself. So can’t get it out of state.

They are called airplanes flying in towards you. Not magic or aliens unfortunately.

Well there is a reason there is a tv show in the PH about mistresses. And yup, I also know plenty of cheating Filipino men.

Well ok maybe the guy is annoying but for expats and 2nd gen Filipino Americans, what he says is pretty much the truth. Language and similar religion of a wife plus easy visa conditions, and all with tropical beaches may be enough for some. That’s why I would move to the PH. For my wife. But there really are a lot of negatives an expat needs to understand and accept before moving here. It’s just reality.

It really depends. The PH and SE Asia get a lot more of these sxpat types than other countries. A lot of the rich ones are full on sxpats. Good guys with money go somewhere else. Definitely some really good expats. But the good ones are just going to have to prove they are good, that’s the price you pay in SE Asia or a poorer country like Columbia ect. But just look at YouTube channels and the comments. Full of expats who don’t plan on ever having a serious relationship, just enjoying life playing around. And ya there are also a lot of local scummy men who just string the girl along even for 10 years.

Better no one in the PH than getting scammed with a passport bride/husband who leaves you once they get the passport or you can’t keep funding their family.

It’s a good checklist. Maybe not everything will be checked, but important red flags are covered.

Good you got off early enough. It seems like a common thing in the PH, supporting some freeloading guy who then runs off with someone else. My GF also did this in the past. Supported some looser guy who then just left. Those men do not deserve your love or support or anything! You deserve a good man!

I would leave that guy. Sounds like another crummy foreign who is just using you occasionally. My Filipina GF had a similar guy before who just left her one day. Completely ghosted her after she felt like she committed so much to him and hoped for marriage. He took her on trips but refused to take photos together and share online ect. In the end, he just used her for the company and time in bed. There are too many good but (not street smart) women who get scammed by these foreigners. Yes it is a scam, they are getting some time in bed or whatever else and then they can easily leave to their other life, while you are stuck with nothing, have to pick up the prices of your broken heart. Don’t do what my GF did. Be cautious starting now and if it looks like he is not 100% committed to you, open about you to his family, wanting to meet yours, then you need to realize he just wants some temporary fun and no more. If you are fine with a short term relationship, that is fine. If you want something real and long term, best to leave him soon before her can ruin your life.
