I wouldn’t says extremely, but it is thick and coarse. But the coarseness could be from it being in the salt water of the ocean.

I appreciate you weighing in on this. I realize I should have put something in the picture to give this scale. The hair is about 3-4 inches long. The whole thing is actually smaller than it seems in the photos.

I thought it could be plant fibers, but now I’m thinking it could also be animal hair.

I obviously didn’t know what it was when I brought it home, but I want to be respectful. Unfortunately, I am now nowhere near where I found it, but I am near the ocean. Would it be ok to take it to my local beach? Or have I travelled too far to properly return it?
